Sure some of this isn't just in your head?
As in, you know its had some pretty invasive work and its playing with your mind? That or your driving it like a reet tool/it is fucked etc etc. Just seems strange how its been for some many different 3rd opinions and nothing conclusive has been found.

Touchy much?
Mine were eibach so far from 'cheap quality' You will get gravel rash from the front wheels flicking up stones to the rear quarters.
By spacing out the wheels that far you are massively changing the whole geometry set up. If your tracking is out by even a few mm you can feel...
Perfect, doesn't need spacers if its driven as intended they ruin the feel..... They also make the car look stupid from the back if using 20mm, and f**k the paint on the rear quarters ;)
They have electric windows lol! Its only leccy mirrors they lose!
I've had both a 197 and now a cup. They feel the same, as in yes the soft touch dash is nice, but the general ambience is the same...
Basically you lose
Keyless entry
AC (its option on a Cup)
Soft touch dash (now hard plastic)...
Depends what you want
I had a Cup for around 3 years from 2004, loved every minute. Then got a 197, loved that, sold it for another 172 Cup. Now dont get me wrong they (172 cups) feel way more brutal than any 197/200, however I regretted going back to a MK2. That was mainly because of the...
Its a myth, my 2 197's have averaged over 28mpg, my current cup is sat at over 30 at the mo.
Only town cars average low mpg, and lets be fair its not was the car was made for.
Ruined the car for me, I had a set of 16mm eibachs on my previous 197 that was already lowered on H&R coilovers, I found it made it nervous/twitchy especially under braking. They lasted about 4 days lol. No need in my book
how did you check the battery? Voltage may be present, but as soon as its put under a load (ie starting) a duff battery would do what you're describing.
Imo if it was an earth problem you'd get nothing
^That can now be adjusted by adjusting the strike pin, dead easy to sort, is the door sitting too low?? If so slacken the pin, few small taps upwards, re tighten, check, repeat untill happy :)
I was thinking the exact same thing, MK1 Spiritos were renowned for it!
Anyway bit of a shitter, should have got a Cup, they have handles in proper positions ;)
I was a Sega man at heart, had the master system and mega drive... Loved streets of rage series, 2 being the best imo also loved road rash and desert strike!
However, I did buy a SNES for Street fighter 2, the mega drive couldnt cope with the conversion :(
I dred to think how much of my...
