Cheers, will try rubber gloves and if all else fails ill attack it with a hammer and somthing sharp.
Alarms still doing my nut though.
If i had the valet code would be all simple but the previous owner was a loser and just looked at me blank.
Re: Why cant a simple job be f***ing simple?!
Cheers, just feel like topping myself atm, have cut up my arms getting to it.
Mr. Haynes recons you can do it with bare hands, yeah right!
Will look better when i have chilled out in the morning.
Real point of contention is the alarm cos the car...
Went to chage my oil today, fine until i came to change my filter, how the hell are you supposed to get a tool to that in a valver?! now i have to ride down to halfrauds tomorrow and see if they have one of the small ones.
So moving on from that i decided to change my battery as my old one is...
didnt get any circlips supplied with my new bearings
i did when i did rears.
Is passenger side but i figured i would do both to save hasstle in the future.
Am based in newark notts.
Cheers fo the help guys.
Went to GSF today and got me some fromt wheel bearings.
was considering doing them myself.
Actually changing the bearings doesnt seem to be to much hasstle.
Am just worried about all the work to get the hub off.
Is it a job i can do myself or am i best taking it to a garage?
Cheers Bailey
struggle to see it at both angles.
Best underneath, shuffle under and check out your gear box from underneath it should be on your left.
all you will see is a nut with a multiplug attached.
Changin battery on my valver cos its fooked.
Went down to work and checked on the system for which one to get only when i got home the new battery is a lot smaller than the old one.
Is this a problem?
Any one know any technical info eg cca of a valver battery?
Cheers
Yeah the multiplug that connects to the sensor.
May be that your sensor is worn, my old 1 was.
not difficult job to do, just like i say, a b**ch to get at.
Switch is on the side of the gear box. b**ch to get ot.
Mine stoped working replaced the switch and still didnt work, turned out to be corrosion in the plug.
Got fooked of and left it in the end. still passed its MOT lol. :D
Using cycle brake cable as my throttle cable atm. lol.
Just a tip use engine hoist points to run new cable keeps it away from the manifold, mine even melts behind the shield. :(
Check all hoses. had a similar proplem and a hose had split near a clip so was pissing coolant evrywhere.
Small job with a stanly knife.
:D
Think my thermostat needs changing tho. :(
Went out in my valver today and has developed a whining noise on the passenge side wheel.
Cant see any signs of rubbing.
Increases with speed but not turning.
Figured it was the front wheel bearings.
How easy are these to do. I did my rears myself a piece of piss.
Cheers
Replaced it, think the gearbox may not be striking it/ wiring fault.
Anybody know how to de-rust connections or any way of adjusting the gearbox to strike the switch?
Both reverse lights recently stoped working on my valver.
Changed reverse switch, all fuses and bulbs not blown.
Was some corrosion on one terminal of the switch and holder.
Could this be the problem or could it be something internal in the gearbox?
Is despirate because MOT is due and...
