As far as i am aware the engines in diffrent phases are the same.
As for being dodgy going into 2nd and reverse thin thats jus a common thing ith the f7 gearbox, mine does it aswell.
Work for Halfords. Navsure are sh1t. Most use the old medion software.
Get a tom tome 1 gb. £199.99. new gen software as cheap as a v1.
(Get it quick cos we cant keep em in stock! lol.)
PS only Hlfords have them in atm.
Thing is on a valver u either need the engine out or get it on a lift 2 move the gear box.
just not got that kinda resource.
Do all other work myslef, wunt be able to afford a valver otherwise.
Guy who had it before me reconed he had a gear box recon 1k ago. dont think thats allighned proply. (wont go in reverse etc) genrally shoddy worksmanship
think ime gonna get it all riped out, new clutch and reffited....... properly.

Whilst driving if I try to put any sort of power down too quickly my car judders (like a learner in tescos carpark!)
Have been told its my clutch on its way out. havent felt it slipping in the usual way (revsbut no speed)

Do all my maintenance myself but i think this is beyond me. lol.
Have been told would be looking at the best part of £250 just for labour.
Think mines goin on my valver aswell. anyone know about how much it is to get one replaced (just labour) cos you have to have the hole engine out i think?!

Looks sh1te. Max power do it in their book and recoon u cant tell but u can!
Mind you i always think mk1s look best standard anyway just with a few tweeks (lowering aftermarket alloys tints etc.)

The stuff in halfords is good but if you're doin a lot ure going to be looking for fibreglass and resin jus because the filler only comes in poxy little tubs and is well expensive.
Try to steer clear of the P38/P40 as well.
Have used the loctite filler, if quite good and easy to use but again...

The Fuds dosent do them, neither does Allwoods or Toolsure or part co.....

Having toruble finding a spanner/tool that can get to my suspension top nuts whilst leaving room for an alen key in the dampner rod.
Anyone changed their own suspension or know of a solution. Need to get under there to change my top mount and bearing for MOT (due bout 1 month ago!).

Hi, just got me a valver as a "project" needed new top mounts and bearing so i though might as well just chuck some lowering springs under there. Only thing is how the hell do you get the top nut off? Is M21 but cant find a spanner that can get to it anywhere. Anyone else encountered this...
