i know a couple of people who have used koni adjustables on a cup, and they definately didn't modify them to fit.
did you call koni direct, or a supplier?
i know what you mean, but i think this would be a bit more precise than that, ie. on the scales.
it wasn't a definate plan, but they have setup some cars where they have found time round a track by adding weight to certain areas.
i have been speaking to a company who specialise in chassis development and setup, they were thinking about possibly ballasting the rear to balance the car.

I don't have any pictures, but i have seen inlets where they have only been machined a few mm into the inlets.
At the same time, for all I know about the dynamics concerned, that could well be a better way of doing things.
