well... just came from the garage where I work my car.
Once again I have the man breading on my neck about working my engine. He just keeps on saying not to but instead change engine.
ok, my valver engine is out of question. big bucks needed to put it ok.
I need an easy engine (at least...
I agree with you.
My mate has changed the 1.9lts GTi engine for the MI16 just because the std engine braked down...
He bought the car and it was fine. at least seemed ok... engine major failure.
not that sad now, since the cure was the MI16
hum... cant tell right now. Still hoping to have time this year so that I can fit the gauges on my RT.
Maybee Thursday I meet with the clio owner in the picture.
Ill let you know.
I own the extra 3 oil gauges from a 16v I own (trashed).
Yes they can be mounted on a RT.
you can see one in here:

This is from a Portuguese. Its not a RT but a 1.9D. Bashboard the same for what you want.

even thou you can buy a wrx with std 215bhp, remember that this is a turbo car and has got a major list of mods to tune that boxer engine...
just look into remap the ecu on a turbo engine... can expect +- 30bhp. On the impreza superchips even says 40bhp gains.
The best way is to tune up...

its kind of hard to belive... the std turbo???
To get the impreza to 280bhp you have to change a LOT!!! now, using the std ecu and turbo and achive higher than that? hum... weird
Here we have some imprezas really tuned. Two of them are at 320bhp mark. A lot was done... head work, STi and...

valve springs... I looked into that subject, but since I dont intend to go above 6500rpm... Im ok.
Of what Ive read, double ones need to change shims and work the head.
btw, is there any other way of testing the springs without using that mesuring machine?
all I can say is: the valver is faster than a 1.9GTi. The willy is faster than those two, but is not faster than a 1.9GTi with the MI16 engine.
this MI16 engine is too wild... even the ralenti is like a freak... cant get it stable.
This is what I experience, this is what Ive seen and rided.

I went for a spin in a 205 1.9GTi with a 405 MI16 engine with the GTi gearbox. I can say that it felt a little more quik than a willy.
I could be wrong, but the damn thing feels so good to ride on, that you cant get your ass off it.

its just because the sound of going to above the edge engine rpm or even worst when keeping it there makes me twist in pain eheheh...
arrghhh it always gets back at us... sonner or later.
well.... Slarty, I didnt understand a single word you posted... Maybee because you post more sarcasm that I can read when written in English.
Sometimes its kind of hard to understand some posts.
well, my little 1.4lts stops ate 6500rpm. Since there is no point on pushing above 6000rpm (no more power damn), Im ok with 6500rpm limit.
Take it easy at rev... above 7000rpm is long term death to the engine... I guess the lub system wont lub as it should above 7k rpm.
Actually Im using the Sensor P half way to the max. Also Im using unlead 98 octane.
Above 3000rpm the car just feel a little more brave... nothing to be pround of, but its a start.
I dont sugest this pratice to anyone.
If you want to look into to this, fine, but you are on your own.
What about going for the clio maxi mod?
I read somewhere that it had forged pistons with only two piston rings.
I cant get no where the maxi spec. I guess that there isnt a datasheet. :/
