So why didn't he just apply the brakes to avoid the dog instead of having to swerve to avoid it?
I do see what you are getting at, but if he hadnt been going so fast he would have had longer to react to the hazard?
Could it be the wiring at the auxillary display. Not really sure if that could give incorrect readings or not, but it might be worth checking. You will have to take off the top of the dash to check this though I think.
holy f**k! It definately gets the message across, the UK needs adverts like this, their are lots of Irish ones which are all equally as hard hitting, first time i have seen that one though.
When I watched the video, the guy in the saxo was baiting them and wanted a race. They took him up on this and showed him what for. I would say they are all dicks, but hey, if you were in your 172/182 etc and someone in their 1.2 was baiting you, wouldn't you teach them the error of their ways?
It wasn't much of a race 'cos the nob in the saxo doesn't know his cars and thought he could bait the Audi, which promptly blew him away in one easy overtake.
We all know the Saxo wouldn't stand a chance, he should have known his limitations too. Its a good way to make yourself look stupid...
If your wing mirror had an external temp sensor (identified as a little black nodule on the bottom side of the mirror) this may be what the connection was for.
Apparently the new sensor alone costs £70 from Renault, but you can get the mirror with sensor included for about £56 from them.
Well, don't know which of these fixed it, but this is what i did once it stopped raining today:
1. Took off the mirror backplate and dried the inside all around the wiring, sensor etc, and also gave it a spray of wd-40.
2. Disconnected the battery (-ve) waited for 3 mins then reconnected...
Hoorah!
My temp sensor problem seems to be sorted (at the moment)
I whipped off the mirror backplate, had a look at the wiring which seemed ok, dried the inside with a cloth, then sprayed a bit of WD-40. Also disconnected battery, left it for 3 mins, and now it seems to be working. Like it...
Thanks mate, you managed to sell yours yet? Was a bit gutted as I wanted a black one, but this was the only 1.6 for sale anywhere near me. If I had seen yours before i bought this I would have made you an offer.
Am still trying to decide whether to lower mine using just springs or to save...
Well, I bought my first Clio on Sunday. In fact its only the second car I have owned, the previous being an E reg Audi 80s, nicknamed "Sherman" 'cos it weighed as much and drove like one thanks to no power steering!
I promptly joined ClioSport.net as I figured it would be an invaluable source...
thats what i thought, cos to be honest I didn't fancy messing with the airbag at all.
Am having an issue with the reading of my external temp,

Edde, what are you basing this on if you don't mind me asking?
Looking at the crap wiring diagrams in the Haynes manual, the only temperature sensors in mentioned for the auto air con are the passenger cabin sensor (internal) and the blown air temp sensor (I presume measuring the temp of the...
thats interesting, i might need to do mine to get at my temp reading display. In my Haynes manual it says that before any work on the dash is to be carried out, read the safety precautions on airbags. This says to remove the drivers airbag before carrying out such work.
Is this necessary...
Or cold? My goddamn external temp reading is f**ed up all of a sudden. It is now -1deg all the time.
Have read a few posts about these failing a lot, but what I really gotta know is, will this affect my automatic air conditioning or not? Would prefer a definate answer if anyone knows for...
Have you had insurance quotes yet? Mine varied massively, some were double the amount of the other ones.
Doh! Just reread the first post, yes you have. My bad!
In answer to question 3, I just got one of these off ebay for £60 unused, will let you know what its like as I should be getting it in next couple of days and having it fitted sometime in next couple of weeks.
Can someone confirm to me whether the small yellow connector on the back of the standard Clio Head Unit is for the dash display?
If so my new jvc will work fine without it? Just won't have the dash display?
Thanks for the comments guys, all taken note of.
Am currently trying to get hold of a full set of front/rear/door strips to get colour coded as i cant be without my car for a couple of days.
Have just fitted a shorter aerial to replace the huge standard one, to be honest I am totally new to...
Ah, ok. Didnt want to make it look like a 172/182 as it isnt one, this kit was one of the more subtle ones i managed to find.
Don't think i will bother then.
