try the cheapest options first then, and see what happens. you might just have to bite the bullet in the end, but at least if you start with the cheaper options, if it works, it hasn't cost you much.

when you say 10mm spacers, do you mean 10mm each side (or 5mm each side) and do you need them front and rear? Am asking cos i have some 172 alloys waiting to go on my car once it is lowered, and would like it to work first time. cheers

Yep, i agree it does look s**t without the covers, was just contemplating the showing off of a nice set of speakers. Looking to replace my fronts with some components and some new co-axials in the rear. Not sure how difficult it is to remove the upper dash to get at the tweeters though.
