Torx 20/30 these gay little heads on screws/bolts the french use. Pick them up from halfords cheap.
You sure its the motor jonny? Whats wrong with it cables frayed? jammed up/down?
Keep doing the oil changes twice a year, as your MOTs in jan, get one of the 'free' health checks in june - a check every 6 month. Least its on the ramp/quickly identify any problems et
Thats a bit expensive mate, you should be able to pick up a decent dynamique with reasonable mileage for around 4kish as said above.
The cambelt is around 2 to 2&1/2 hours, let a specialist do it though, theres 2 pins needed or else it gets messed up
Do you wait for the glow plug light to go out?
Check your glow plugs aren't shot. Quick way to test them is put a test light/lenth of wire on the + of the battery then tap the top of them.
You know BMW don't fit 4 spotlamps because it restricts airflow?? Can't see it being a massive issue though
Car looks good, way more aggressive than the 197 tank
There easy to swap rob - bolt off bolt on jobby. The hard part is lining the door, try get a jack under it, it 'will' take ages to line up to look 100%
I'd try and get it repaired, might be cheaper than you think try a mobile bodyshop
Yeah your right, JC5 could just about manage a 1.6/1.8 Petrol Laguna (Imagine how these are driven, people aged 40/50etc)
Al whatever you do don't get the 100 you'll get pissed off with the gearbox. Too long ratios
Yeah its a the common rail sensor I wouldn't worry about it mate.
Is the car running funny atall? I'd get them to clear the fault & see if it comes back
The later dynamiques had auto wipers/lights, anti-sun rays glass and all sorts, Climate control was optional but is quite rare, front fogs, 'Sports' ratio power steering and 'Sports' suspension.
The DCIs are quicker than the petrols (non-rs) and cheaper to run/tax
Mate unless you planning on doing mainly motorway miles I'd try and get a 65bph/80bhp. The 100 is generally slower than the 80 round town due to having the shittest gearbox on the planet (out of the 1.6/1.8 petrol lagunas - excellent at sitting on the motorway thats about it) ratios are too...
Check you leads arn't arching out mate, with it running lift them one by one to see if you can hear it.
Failing that check your spark plugs are in good nick, clean them up aswell.
The garage isn't upto date, theres a note about it in the MOT notes
The valve is there as a union but not connected (Saves money/time making a completely different one for the sake of it) 172 Cups brakes do virtually nothing at the back.
Theres loads of garages that don't know/can't be...
Take your sunroof out mate (on a dry day/in a garage)
Theres the handle on the one end/side of its got a thing metal rod, which is the bit you need to sort, and it locks into place - you'll have seen it when you removed it.
Get some brake pipe/tube that fits on it, cut it lengthways & put a...
Martin your nearing your second cambelt when some people with older ones haven't got there first one done yet lol
Did you have the waterpump done last time you got the belt changed? as this can leak - given your mileage.
Olliee hafords do 4 year gaurantee on some batteries unsure what ones though.
If you've got a mate with a trade card its more than 50% off batteries aswell
I'd check the wiring that goes into the door (between the A pillar & the door) black tube full of wires, the block plug can fill with water. I'd check that before you strip the door.
Failing that check the connections/wiring to the lock/solenoid.
