little bit help

hey am new but got a question i need answerin for a mate - how hard or easy is it to change an electric window mech on a '03 clio and is there any tutoial to it anywhere on hear?! a garage quoted him £200 - would like to help him out a little - gota run will post properly tomorra,

Nah its piss easy
Pull off the door card, you'll need a T30 torx and a T20

Then unbolt the motor and runner, 10mm socket

Then unclip it from the window, install the new one, iirc you have to do a bit of wiring, 2 wires. check to make sure its wired the right war round!!

then sling it all back together, takes about half hour tops.

Torx 20/30 these gay little heads on screws/bolts the french use. Pick them up from halfords cheap.

You sure its the motor jonny? Whats wrong with it cables frayed? jammed up/down?

There torrx bolt sizes you cna somtimes use screwdrivers but don't bother go to a motorplace and buy a selection only a few quid much better of with them.

its not mine its a mate, he tuk it to the place he bought it (they quoted him £200) but the said the mech was nackered, i can get a full mech for £60ish so if its easy enough to change i'll do it for him.

to whoever it was that asked where i live i live just outside surham in the north east

there are only 2 mate, a manual and a electric one! they are the same through out the range between 98-2005
