more of a case of junking the electrics in the door, so i dont have to mess about trying to mount the switches in my carbon door cards.
will be changing to manual windows too, again for the wiring and switch mounting issues.
right, so times is getting on and got so many things to do.
This weekend i wanted to get the final bits of the interior ready.
So it was a case of tidying up the dash where it was cut...
Before:
After:
And the other side tidy too:
So then i masked up the bits i...
the only advantage the CTR has over the clio is rear leg room.
Otherwise they are equal or the clio wins, come speed, handling, running costs, blah blah blah.
Its a buyers market, so find a few nice examples and get haggling!!
they came with the car, but it just so happens the guy who did it has just registered on here.
his forum name is: tommy rallye
might be worth sending him a PM so he can give you a bit more info.
hey guys
thinking of changing the xenons on my 172 to standard light. Mainly due to a cheaper fix if they get damaged come track days and Time Attack.
Now is this a straight swap, ie unbolt xenon, replace with standard, bolt back in place, connect up power.
or do i need to be messing...
funny you should say that! just had an email back from them with a quote of £180 + VAT for it done inside and out!
think i will, cos as you say it s far better than any heat wrap!
just some sales shite i put up, as most people dont realise the strengths of carbon fibre etc.
but they are pretty realistic looking, even when you get up close.
happy bidding!
thought the 'ex[erts' went quiet after i pointed out thats what the dent was for.
Send us a PM reference the surrounds mate, got over 30 people watching them on ebay! :D
well if it gives the car a few more minutes life till the track side fire service arrives, then it gets my vote.
obviosuly it wont put out a blazing inferno! But its 1000 times better than some hand held item i gotta scrabbled for, then get out, then try and aim into the engine bay!!!!
ah right cool! Havent spoken to Mankee in ages!
dont suppose you could fire him a pm and ask him for me?
saves me trying to re-register on there. no worries if not mate.
i always thought that formed dent was to miss the antiroll bar that runs under the car.
the original manifold on my 182 had it too.
it may look slightly more pronounced on that one due to me giving it a spit and polish.
had a couple of other bits turn up too....
Time Attack states you must run at least a hand held extinguisher, but i felt more comfortable with a plumbed in system, so if there was an engine bay fire i could put it out rather than stand back and watch the thing go up in smoke...
i would just speak to Andy at GDI mate, he can then give you the real money figures, then you can go from there chosing what you want.
I have always gone N/A with my cars, as i personally feel that if an engine dont leave the factory with a s/c or t/b then dont bother with it.
But having...
