Other half is still running Ubuntu so I'll probably get to see it on her box if she decides to upgrade. I went back to openSUSE after PC-BSD. I like SUSE (KDE) more than Ubuntu. If I can ever get sound to work in PC-BSD then I'll probably move to that full time. It's so bloody quick!

Well personally I'd choose Sky simply because Virgin are no longer carrying Sky channels. I have Sky TV and Sky phone service and have no complaints. Didn't go for broadband with them because they only offer Sky connect in our area which isn't any good to me.

Try 755, I know my host won't allow 777 for security reasons.

hmm apparently there is a fault on the line which is why I am still on 2Mb. I have to do a number of tests over the weekend, call them back on monday and they will resolve the issue with BT.

It's possible that another profile has loaded. Close firefox, click START -> RUN Enter this: firefox.exe -profilemanager See if more than one profile is listed, if so, the other profile is probably the one you were using and has your bookmarks.

I sold mine about the middle of last year, didn't have as many games as you but had a lot of extra hardware. I sold it for £100, so £50 is probably reasonable I'm afraid. Probably better off keeping it!

It was OSS. I've given up I'm afraid, been at it nearly 2 days and not been able to resolve the issue so I'm back on suse! It was as though something was muted as the driver was correct but so were all the volumes.

ALSA is Linux only. I have absolutely no idea whether it's OSS or ARTS. I can't find anything that says?!
