The professionals have to weigh up time versus money the customer is spending. Most paying customers would rather the job take a couple hours less and be charged less for the privilege.
Removing mirrors, handles, etc seems a little pointless unless you're going for true concourse and, imo...
If you could comfortable afford it and it was a good example (mega-high miles and no belt change suggests poor service history?) then I'd say R32 all day long, but there's no point making yourself insecure financially just for a car, especially at the moment.
Re: iPhone 3.0 Discussion
Fair enough, from my experience the only hardware changes that would be worthwhile at the moment would be to
Make it smaller or have a greater storage capacity. Neither matters to me.
Re: iPhone 3.0 Discussion
Sorry if I've missed a point, but what's stopping them just releasing 3.0 for the existing 3G? Why the certainty, and requirement, for a new iphone if it's all software-related fixes?
Lol, cheers boys. It's been a long journey but she almost looks like a real Cup... just the respray to go.
Was good to meet the small selection that decided to meet up, nice to have one of each available, as well as something a bit different to ponder over!
Justin - Yeah I did mate - had a panic when the wrong backing plate turned up, but all sorted!
I may pop along to the meet today... 12pm at Exeter Services, right?
By the guy's own admission it's been sat in his garage for 4 years so will no doubt need a bit of work to get it sweet again.
Remember, this is a 32 year old car and seriously collectable nowadays. To someone that is into VW's, or perhaps has the money to start a project, it's worth its money.
That would explain the reference to anal violation in the second sentance...
Looking forward to this, should be a chuckle. Not been on a ferry since year 8!
Cheers russ, I might have a look into the menz polishes as they seem to be rated better and easier to use. I'm pretty confident I didn't spend long enough properly breaking down the polishes...
Lol, in the media section that would just be wrong...
Aye, the dent's been there since I got her. There's various annoying scrapes on both bumpers which I'll be sorting in due course, but she's not in bad nick for 80k.
I used Megs 83 and 80 with Lake Country Orange and Black - it's certainly not flawless in the right light, but a big improvement nonetheless!
I spread the polish on '2' and then worked it in slowly on '5' - moving the machine about 1cm a second. That sound right? I wonder if I wasn't using...
^ Cheers mate, good tip! For some reason I was under the impression that the pad would be spinning at crazy rpm, hence the effectiveness of it over hand polishing.
I have since learnt that I am wrong, lol.
Cheers chaps, I'd love to get the car looking nice and get some 'proper' shots done... might have to speak nicely to Chris (ukaskew)!
Vein - gladly mate; I intend to maybe offer my novice services out over the coming months prior to show season! I won't be perfect, but I also won't be...
No before's because I'm a rubbish detailer-writer-upper and didn't even think about it....
But I'm pleased with the results for my first time, not sure I was applying the right pressure all the time and I found the pad deceiving as to whether it was spinning or not! There's still light...
Flol, calm it chap, he's just playing up to the CS audience. People love a good reveal on here so he's just taking the piss by delaying!
So many angry people on this forum!
