Does anyone know how things work with credit card payment online if you are scammed?
I know there is a chargeback thing that credit card companies can do but will this be availiable with all c/cards and do you have to prove anything before they will put through the chargeback?
The reason I...
Yeah, I'll be replacing the clutch when the bearing is being replaced. I'll try and keep the miles down as best I can but I'll need to use it for getting to work - only a few miles a week though. If my garage was cleared out then I could change it now but it's full of crap and needs cleared out.
I have had a screeching noise occasionaly on gear changes for some time now and had thought it was the clutch release bearing but as it wasn't to be heard often and it's not affecting driveability I have yet to replace it.
Tonight though I noticed that you can hear it rattling when the car is...
Was fukcing baltic in Edinburgh today. I heard it's supposed to be like that for a few days anyway. Luckily my car is under the car port so no frost on it at all.
Looks nice mate. Is that the one that was up for sale on a few forums a wee while ago?
Is it in pretty good running order and what sort of milage is it on?
Thanks ben - I'll check those things. There is about equal play at 3 and 9 I would say. I'll take the disc off etc as you say and I'll also check the strut to hub bolts are tight enough. There isn't any sort of bearing noise to be heard yetr anyway so I'm hoping it could be something else.
They seem to be getting more common in Edinburgh, I saw a racing blue (think that's what it's called) 182 at hermi gate the other day, and have seen several other 172s and 182s recently.
This is a bit of a long story so please bear with me. When I bought my car at auction about 9 months ago I found that the wheel bearing was needing replaced so that was done but within about 1500 miles it had to be replaced once again. I was told that this was probably caused by the hub so I got...
I may have to reconsider at that price TBH. I wouldn't mind paying about £60 but £395 is just far, far too much for me. I wouldn't want to have people sponsor me and then have to say XXX amount will be going to the entry fee.
Neither of my foglights work and mine wasn't a fail. TBH I wouldn't expect it to be a fail but I don't know that with any certainty - no doubt someone will come along and tell you.
Yeah, I'm sure you could get a better unit for £270ish but as I say I only paid £95 and can't see that there would be too much more to be had for that price.
In the end I got THIS unit. It's the JVC EXAD KD-LHX601 which the cheapest I could find was about £270 I think on then net but I got it off a guy on Ebay for £95 including delviery and a DAB aerial (worth £30 by itself) so I'm pretty pleased with that.
Not had a chance to hook up the DAB yet...
Will it probably be worth me having a look to check as my car is about to hit 70k - the last service I did myself and I have yet to check the rear drums. Would it pretty much just be a case of replacing the rear shoes if they are worn down and is that pretty simple?
Leave the videos up mate!!! There are plenty of other people on here who enjoy seeing videos like this - there are also those who will moan but just let them.
I agree that people take things to seriously on here now. If you say you broke the speed limit by 2mph there are some that will...
lol, that's why I want it to snow here. Last time it was snowing I was doing that too. I was doing it on the streets at times (on way to car park) but it was late at night so only drunks to aim for ;)
Once you are used to it it becomes quite controllable TBH - but at the same time in snow you...
If you are carefull with your money you will be able to do that OK mate. I currently make about £250 a month (part time job as I'm at uni) but manage to run my car and have got (or will soon have) it lowered, alloys, full exhaust system etc. I plan on upgrading in the summer but in the meantim...
Welcom to the club mate. There is another thread HERE which was posted recently and should have what you are after.
What sort of clio are you going to see? (1.2, 1.4 etc)
don't know about this mate but was the conversion itself relatively simple? If you don't mine me asking how much was it to do the conversion as I'm thinking of doing one to mine in the summer as a bit of a project.
What's all needed for the volvo conversion and how much is availiable off other clios etc (engine mounts etc)?
It's all just a thought just now but I would quite like a bit of a project so just want to assess my options.
