When you get a new shaft from Renault the splined joint is greased.

    Whiring noise on over-run

It could be the drive shaft centre bearing or the wheel bearings. If you could get it to a garage up on ramps and see if you can diagnose it spinning the wheels The cv joints tend to clunk rather than whine.

    4 X 114.3 alloy wheels on 4 X 100 clio?

You could get adapters I think they're roughly £50-60 a corner. I'd just sell on the Jap wheels unless they were really special.

    ITB'd Road & Track Ph1 Titanium 172

I hope it doesn't come to that, but that's definitely the solution if so! Tbh on the road I doubt they'll be much different to yours, I'll just have damping adjustment for track use really as they'll be on fully soft for road.

    ITB'd Road & Track Ph1 Titanium 172

I took the car for its first proper drive with the roll centre kit fitted. It's good! I wrote a brief review on it here http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?717989-Roll-centre-bump-steer-corrector-hubs/page36 Also had some good news yesterday, apparently my ASTs are ready so I've...

    group n spring rates?

Adjustable bladed ARB for the front would be great. Something Cornering Force could do perhaps. http://www.corneringforce.com/anti_roll_bars.html

    Cup shocks vs normal shocks

They are different, although you were right to say get the 182 cup shocks :) . One of the traders on here put up an incorrect list showing both the 172 cup and non-cup with the same part number. The cup has a higher damping rate and both 182 and 172 cups share the same rear shocks. This is the...

    Cup shocks vs normal shocks

On a 182 yes. No difference on a 172. The difference is the damping is firmer.

Well the drive shaft and track rod issues are sorted with help from NorthloopCup Chip-mk1 and Carbonraider . For the track rods I had some longer adapters made. And I've fitted a set of new genuine ph2 172 shafts which are 20mm longer each side than the ph1 shafts. For the o/s I went for the...

Differences between 172 and 172 cup, 182 and 182 cup

My Clio has cost me ££££ more than I ever thought it would...where do you stop. I wish I'd bought a 172 cup to start with. The only bits of mine that aren't cup are the carpet, dash, shell, windows....I started from a ph1 though. Although this is because it started as a road car and as I found...
