i think its cuz modifying a car is such a personal thing, uve got to be careful about how you do it so as not to narrow ur selling market.
I brought my old mk2 ph1 1.4S for £2750 standard.
i put 16" ph2 172 alloys on it, and ph2 rear clusters and left it there.
the carcovered 20,000 miles...
 just what i was thinking.
i can see the thread now:
"Ive fallen for this girl who drives a racing blue 182, i dont know what to do..."
(we're just messin lusty)
the older civics can be seriously tuned.
ive got a friend with a 1.6vti that is pretty much on par with my 172. honda engines respond so well to simple mods.
im not sure what induction kits are compatible with the new shape clio. its worth looking into the Viper induction kit though, thats a good one.
failing that, replacing the panel filter with a performance one can have just as good an effect.
exhaust wise, get over to prospeed in cardiff, or...
this is what ive got:
what copper is gonna get close enough to spot the lack of postcode? and be enough of a c**k master to fine me for it?
the original plates that came on the car from renault have no maker, and no postcode.
and thanks for the comments guys, im loving my car right now...
they dont need the postcode, just the makers name and british standard code that they conform to.
both of which are present on mine. when my dad got them he told me about how they couldnt do everything i wanted due to legalities. he also had to take my V5 b4 theyd do them, cuz they have to keep...
no idea, i took it to a renault approved body shop in kettering and they ordered a new bonnet and bumper, and sprayed them both, no idea where the paint came from but the match is 100% spot on.
The place I got them from does have thier logo in the corner. my dad is supplier to the company that make them (jepson or sumthing) so he sorted them for me.
I wanted honeycomb backing but thats now illegal. 3D lettering is not illegal.
The plates are definately 100% legal.
i had them refurbed in that colour. i compared them to a trophy the other day, theyre 99% spot on, might just be the pics, but agains a trophy its very hard to tell the difference.
Thanks to a new bonnet and front bumper fitted friday, the car got one serious detailing session on saturday. Just nicked works camera and went to the car park for a bit of snapping.
Got a bit trigger happy, enjoy...
lol, yeah, i went thru all them stones too. i nearly cried as my bonnet and front bumper where brand new, and had been on the car about 14 hours at that point :-(
standard alloys rock, failing that go for a pair of ph2 172 wheels.
there are very few non-reanult alloys that look any good in my opinion.
cud always splash out and go for turinis :p
its hard to resist dirty thoughts about the vee, but i couldnt have one if i wanted one, my drum kit isnt gonna fit in that little compartment under the bonnet, lol.
yeah, on runs like this you need to be taking the bumps nicely, hard springs/coilovers really arent ideal.
i thinks thats what caught the willy out, the fact it was lowered and much stiffer made it too twitchy.
