New prototype in the cold light of day

Clio owners - what can you do ;)
  2. Tom@JMS

New prototype in the cold light of day

No its ok - it was actually quite handy as we needed MAP / AIT sensors for the manifold development anyway ;)

New prototype in the cold light of day

James is fluent in 'I'm-moaning-cos-I'm-hungry-and-tired' if that counts? ;)

New prototype in the cold light of day

There were nearly tears at 3.00am yesterday when we fitted it all, and then could not access one of the lower bolts to tighten it without taking it all off again - you live and learn!

New prototype in the cold light of day

Hi Jon, how you doing? The trumpets are pretty sexy as they are also made from carbon - but unfortunately you can't see them as they are inside the plenum, they are bonded into a structural backing plate, that is then bolted onto the base manifold. There are no internal exit bolts for obvious...

    How rude!! ;)

New prototype in the cold light of day

Its certainly a key strength, massively reduces kit cost, fitting cost & general suitability for the car. I still maintain that the standard ECU can do the job - but importantly you have to design products to work with it - not just abandon it from the word go, however I am not a ECU...

New prototype in the cold light of day

Your right there Ollie - there are a lot of guys that need a mention for helping make this a reality but James rises above all. He is the definition of hard work, keeping everything ship shape and running while I'm off developing ideas :approve:

New prototype in the cold light of day

    Yes, standard everything electronic wise.

New prototype in the cold light of day

Thanks Ady, your stickers & turnaround are the nuts ;)

New prototype in the cold light of day

Thanks Fred - I don't do pretty - I do function ;) Tell me about it Pete lol Yes, so you retain TCS, CC & Speed limiter (does anyone actually use that!?) amongst other systems :) On the button, no messing about cutting etc - can be fitted or returned to standard easily within a day! I've...

Look on pic mate, you can see it on the side ;)

New prototype in the cold light of day

No - it's a revised intake manifold design - for instance the carbon fiber part is like the RENAULTSPORT part on the standard manifold ;)

New prototype in the cold light of day

Thanks chaps :) Well in the sense that it is a replacement manifold I believe so? The basic idea is to lift the cars NA performance, whilst retaining all of the standard electronics & functions. Your essentially designing around the cars native language and engine bay space, not cutting into...

New prototype in the cold light of day

It may not be on the car tmrw mate unfortunately - needs to come off for some development asap!

    Le' Shed

Why would you want to sell that? Ever.

New prototype in the cold light of day

It's just a shame the 182's engine bay is such a state - poor thing :dapprove:

New prototype in the cold light of day

Neither can be determined until the car is correctly calibrated & RR'd. That said the theory & numbers suggest a change in delivery towards the top end - so we'll have to see ;)

New prototype in the cold light of day

Final prices, gains etc are still realistically 2 months away and that's not what the thread is for. So have patience and key an eye on a traders section.

New prototype in the cold light of day

Yeah, this thing has been my life for the past 6 months, many 4am finishes! Mapping is TBC. It runs very well on the Fastchip calibration already on the ECU with no significant issues, although that said it has not been pushed that hard yet! I don't fully understand your question, but I can...

New prototype in the cold light of day

Correct - but with Injector bosses added in house - the normal Jenvey setup places the injectors in the spacers after the base manifold. Every other part has been designed by myself and manufactured using local companies.

New prototype in the cold light of day

It's a direct replacement inlet manifold - implements all of the existing sensors, ECU, & TB. The Plenum is formed from 7 ply CF for vacuum integrity and formed for maximum flow efficiency.

New prototype in the cold light of day

Something we've cobbled together other the last few months behind the scenes - a few of you should see the significance of it  On the car ready for the next stage of map development. Very much a prototype in its current state as many of the tertiary parts have not moved to production yet...

    5-a-Side Football - Surrey Area

I can bring them, but won't be able to fit them tonight matey!

    5-a-Side Football - Surrey Area

No football for me as I will be finishing something special, however if it all goes to plan I may make an appearance at 10 ;)

Boys, send the images directly to me. I'll sort out replacement lines.

how have you run your breather filter?

It vents pressures, and yes it does require a filter on the end of it.

    On the BBC...maybe a 182 LY ?

No rear window washer jet ;) (I'm upset with my sadness :()

Stopping underseal being scraped off when jacked up?

Rubber footed Jack would probably help, but I honestly wouldn't worry mate - if your car has as much underseal on it as mine you'd need more than a bit of jacking to risk corrosion ;)
