Can be fun but overtaking can take forever! Can be good fun on empty roads.
As for the petrol pump comment, I'm in a petrol station twice a week hence no 172 :(
The exhaust on my 1.2 16v (mk2ph1) has been rattling lately, wsnt really blowing but my Dad could here a faint blow. So during my lunch hour yesterday I took it down to SMS in Stirling to get checked. Up on the ramps, dodgy clamp between the cat and mid section pipe was to blame so they took...
all cars do that dont they. I compared mine to my Garmin satnav and its roughly a 10% difference with the speedo reading over my actual speed. My mate also got the same result in his car, as did my dad. Is there not a legal requirement for the speedo to overread?
EDIT: and its relative to how...
I've been doing some long distance driving recently and have been carrying a caton of oil in my boot. However, said carton of oil managed to fall over, lid came off and has gone on the interior cloth.:o
Only noticed this morning as I went to put my bike in the back so I put my seats down...
It certainly looked like it. didnt have the usual mk1 wheels though. could be a look alike?
EDIT: also whilst we're at it, there was a 172 cup parked up in my village of buchlyvie on the same day. just at the bus stop.
Renault mechanics not putting things back on properly again, they must have loosened the wee brass bit in the plastic and it popped out. All sorted now though.
Andy you got your motor looked at yet?
Been happening for a week or so now and its drving me insane.
The rear speakers (I think) rattle occasionally. Seems to be inconsistant as it doesnt always do it. Sometimes on the radio and sometimes when playing a cd. Its that really annoying high pitched rattle.
Anyone know whats up...
Very good thread this one with wise advise from CrazyClio.
I wanted to lower mine, fit an exhaust, IK, wheels etc but I never got round to it as I always spent it (when ever I got it) on my real interest of mountain biking. I think I would have regretted wasting it on the car as I'm now bored...
ouch, i can get pads and discs for £40!
I'm assuming the lights were the whole light fitting? xenon lamps are £20 a pair arent they?
Handbrake and exhaust can be done yourself if your technically minded.
Are any of these cars modded? I'm looking at a pahase quick with exhaust and IK and been told that with the driving i do it'll be around 22mpg? this seems a bit unrealistic to me. on an average commute to work its 18 miles on A roads and 7 miles in town. i get around 32mpg from a 1.2 with IK
I've just been getting quotes from Adrian Flux at £600 cheaper than anywhere else on a 172 I might be buying. Best I can get is £1100 with all the mods. Last year it was £2200.
