The new HD EPG supports single LNB configurations as well, although it's something that Sky turn on and off over the air when you tell them rather than an option in the settings menu.
In dual mode apparently this trick does not work anymore and in single mode you completely lose Anytime...
Exactly. These type of "rants" are amusing, people forget that at one point in time they were new customers themselves and they will have got free installation and possibly a heavily subsidised box if they had to buy it.
Pages does open word files.
And the most likely reason for dropping fire firewire is because it's going the way of the dodo.
Apple were an early adoptor on it and their machines have had it for years, sure it's had upgrades (FW800) but does your average consumer really come across firewire...
lol
Transmission, Speed Download and Transmit = download client heaven.
In what way, surely you knew it didn't have an HDMI port before you bought it?!
Re: iphone appstore must haves?
No, they're OS provided interface components.
However, in OS 3 all the apple apps now run in landscape mode, so you'll just have to wait a little longer.
Re: iPhone 3.0 Discussion
LOL o2 won't know anything!
More memory is dependent on ram chips becoming available that have the same size footprint as the current ones, as of sep last year nobody was making them and it didn't look like they would be for a while. There's no space inside for more...
Re: iPhone 3.0 Discussion
It's a bit odd really, they also have the perfect place to show information like that, the unlock screen. It's a place that has a nice amount of unused real estate and could easily show upcoming calendar events, you wouldn't even have to unlock the phone.
It'd...
Re: iPhone Q&A DONT START ONE QUESTION IPHONE THREADS. **POST HERE**
Settings > General > Network > Data Roaming
It defaults to off IIRC anyway, but best to double check.
Re: iPhone 3.0 Discussion
The metadata search engine that's in OS X, seeing as how all the information on the iPhone is pretty much stored inside sqlite, they've done a similar thing.
SQL queries across application data = fast search.
Re: iPhone 3.0 Discussion
:)
It sure does look pretty though.
If they provided a framework which allowed the "in call" state to share the UI then they could allow sat nav to work properly without the need for background applications and when the phone is "turned off" then the app stops...
Re: iPhone 3.0 Discussion
Ok, so that ones in the App store, but it's about as useful as a chocolate teapot.
a) No voice guidance. lol
b) No navigation while in call. double lol
Point b requires background applications and/or a suitable framework for sharing in the incall UI with the phone.
They will cost "more" because they're unsubsidised.
Skys offer of £79 for existing customers without taking the multiroom option is a good deal imo.
They don't care, they can't stop you from installing/replacing a new box as an existing customer. It literally takes a 2 minute phone call...
Re: iPhone 3.0 Discussion
Exactly, being able to forward text messages would be more useful than cut & paste, even on phones I had that allow cut and paste I can probably count on one hand the number of times I actually used it, SMS forwarding on the other hand....
Background application...
Re: iPhone 3.0 Discussion
True. But they could add a premium onto the handset price for early upgrading, enough to make users switch and enough to give o2 a nice little bounty for locking them into new contracts.
Or they could just say f**k off and wait till the end of your contract.
Either...
Re: iPhone 3.0 Discussion
Because Apple are allowing the phones to be subsidised by the network now, therefore you get the phone cheap when you enter a contract and are then locked in for the remainder.
However, it's entirely possible that they may allow a handset upgrade (for $$$ and new...
