A 182 will return the best mpg out of all the petrol hot hatches (VXR's, GTi's, Type R's etc) and deliver as good performance. I never had a problem with my 172 and it was not expensive to fix, (brakes, service, and shocks) depending on where you look/go. Why would you need to change the front...
It's probably the fact you have a Sport and they think, oi oi, I'll have a wee go here! As long as it's safe and nobody is taking stupid chances, it's all good. I hate seeing wreckless overtaking etc.
I had a set of 182 alloys while my Turinis were getting refurbed. Quite liked them but preferred the standards. Bought the 182 alloys for £200 and sold them £450!
...and it is faster! Felt similar when I moved from my Saxo VTR too but as you get used to it, the bottom end of the rev range becomes a bit tiresome. It could do with a touch more torque. Power to weight is the trump card on these.
The 172 Cup has lighter wheels, thinner windows, wider track, lower ride height, to name but a few. (compared to the 172) I'm not sure how the 182 Cup compares but the 172 Cup is the rawest of the two and the lightest.
Great cars, you'll love it! Regarding your 3rd gear at 30mph comment...while it's no slouch at these engine speeds, you'll realise that in fact it's pretty gutless below 4-5k revs. Due to relative lack of torque, you need to keep them on the boil to get the best from them.
Seems quite a lot of people would be tempted by the Civic...interesting...especially on a Clio forum.
Both are iconic hatches; you'll do well with either.
True, proper WTF stuff!! And the coupe and SUV things they are trying to flog are worse!
The Mini is a great car, especially in JCW it would appear but I cannot get with the looks and the Fisher Price interior. I'm not into 'funky' cars! I'd have one over a Fiat 500 though! These should only...
Clios are not all that quick in a straight line. Just enjoy them for what they are, good handling, fun hatchbacks. The Evo is a weapon that can humble supercars - what did you expect?!
That's terrible for a 182. You should be getting 22.5mpg when ragging it all the time! Maybe it's bust or are you just going on the trip computer, which is inaccurate?
