So I ordered the STRIX :smile:

Most of these higher end air Ti cards all clock to the same values really anyway don't they. So really there's not much performance differences.

I was/am very tempted to cancel my pre-order for the FTW3 Ti and buy the STRIX Ti as OCUK have some available for delivery tomorrow.

Apparently CPU has very little effect on score.

Managed to up my score with some careful overclocking.

The trailer for the new one certainly does look good. Didn't play the first one as I like having both single player and multiplayer options. So imagine I'll pick this up at some point.

Rumours suggesting that the FTW3 card has been pushed back to mid May.

Managed to "up my score" with some OC'ing of the GPU: Will be interesting to see the difference once the Ti arrives. Could only go 100MHz on both memory and core clock on the 1070. It could finish the benchmark on +110 on both but there was artifacts caused straight away so turned it back...

Downloaded it and gave it a whirl. Seems strange to not have a QHD (1440P) preset when that seems to be the "on the up" resolution. I dare say that it'll be there for the paid version of the app.

So I bought myself a nice new keyboard (RGB obviously lol) in an effort to learn how to "game" with a keyboard. Takes a bit of getting used to just typing with the mechanical keyboard never mind play games. It really isnt easy, particularly Battlefield 1, swapping from controller to keyboard...

I'm in the same boat. The wee man's birthday is end of June so hopefully have one by then. Will order it from Nintendo at the weekend so should (fingers crossed) receive it around May time.

Pre-order prices are also comparatively low so grab a pre-order before they go and prices go back up.

So the EVGA FTW3 1080 Ti is expected to ship on the 1st May. Tis a long old time away. Currently only orderable from the Eu EVGA website. Good thing with them is that payment isnt taken until the item is in stock so means no £800 hole in the bank account with nothing to show for it for a month.

A lot of reviews seem to suggest all 3 Ryzen 7 CPUs will run very similar clock speeds when overclocked. Since its also the cheapest for same performance, id opt for the 1700.

So after a bit of playing about I managed to get on top of my fans running fast most of the time. A bit of tweaking in Q-fan in the BIOS and stress testing resulted in temps not exceeding 68 degrees C. Not the coolest by any means but nicely low enough.

Disappointing. The STRIX ones clocks seem to be quite low for an aftermarket card with such a massive cooling setup.

If you run SLI do you need 2 of the same GPUs or can you mix?

CDKeys can be dangerous at times. I dread to think how much I've spent buying cheap games off of there lol.

Still making my way through the 1st one on PC (Completed it back in the day on Xbox One). Yet to touch the DLC that came with it for £4 off CDKeys.

Lol. Think I'll be waiting on the Strix or EVGA FTW 3 (Leaning towards this one at the mo). I assume it'll be founders editions only on Friday?

Its definitely looking good for Ryzen 7. Give them some time to sort out BIOS issues and they'll be even more competitive.

£435 buy it now for a Founders Edition 1080. Lowest I've seen so far. And another buy it now for £760 for 2 plus SLI bridge.
