Needed a cheap second car, but thought that I might as well get one with a little poke. Bought a 182 without ever having driven one and fell in love with it immediately. It's now my car of choice for a quick blast.
Well, little update. Got new discs, pads (front and rear) and fluid from George on here. Just picked the car up and the noise has all gone. Thankfully the calipers were fine. The inside pads and discs were knackered so glad to get them off.
Thanks for the help.
Since buying my 182 in Oct, I've noticed that when braking hard from high speed, I can hear a grating noise from the brakes. I posted a thread about it and was told it's probably a characteristic of having drilled and grooved discs. However, I've also noticed a humming/whirring noise when...
I had £3k for a second car and bought a 182 with low miles, totally mint and with a massive history. Absolutely love it. I doubt there's a better car out there for the same money.
My main family car is a 59 plate Octy vRS estate. A few simple mods will massively transform the car. It's very sedate as standard but a stage 1 map from Shark or Revo will see around 250bhp. Mines on stage 2 now and around 290 ish. ITG intake and Milltek full turbo back. Straight line...
I'm afraid you got some duff advice above mate. This is the one you want, it works brilliantly. Although, I did buy a longer aux cable as the one supplied was a little short to run into the glove box.

Just sorted it myself. Bought a kit of eBay for £29.99. It plugs into the rear of the stereo and tricks it into thinking it had a cd changer. It connects to your iPod/iphone or anything with a standard headphone socket and I'm very impressed with the sound quality.
Just been reading up and realised that I can fit an aux input into the standard stereo of the 182. I have the 'tuner list' stereo fitted so was wondering if the following would be ok;

Most of the threads I found were pretty old, so was wondering if this was the best...
Recently bought a 182 in amazing condition. When test driving it, I could hear quite a loud noise when braking from high speed. I assumed it was the corrosion on the inside of the front discs and was fully prepared to replace them if it didn't wear off. Well, the discs look much better but I...
Yeah, certainly compared to the Sti off the line. However, the clio is really good in the corners and loving the high revving nature of the engine. Not had a N/A motor for a good few years.
Just bought a 182, excellent condition but the front discs and pads might need doing soon. I just sold an Impreza Sti which I fitted the Godspeed grooved discs and kevlar pads too. They were fantastic and well rated in the Subaru forum. Was wondering if anyone used them on here and if there were...
Well, I went with the Genuine Renaultsport mats off eBay. Have to say that they're the best quality, best fitting mats I've bought. Well worth the money. Also had a mate polish the headlights that were looking very tired, came up like new. Just one wheel to get refurbed then it will be truly mint!!
Here are a few I managed to take before the weather changed. Gave it a quick clean and I'm gob smacked by the paintwork. Not a single scratch or swirl anywhere. Just a couple of stone chips on the front.
