your new ones have bigger magnets they need more power to move them (creating more bass) which your headunit cannot supply . they need to be amped to get the best out of them

does it start ok ie: you dont have to put your foot on the gas to start it first time . i would say its just the cold weather and the engine is compensating nothing to worry about unless its cutting out or reving wildly
