Only just got back from the Opticians.
It's just started raining also. Try next weekend if we get some better weather?
I've got to shoot over to Birmingham to shut down some stuff in the office now.
That sodding exhaust. They replaced the centre section to solve a rattle but couldn't get it to fit correctly so had to replace the entire system in the end. I remember taking it back and pointing out that it was almost a foot off the rear bumper, they thought that was fine so I dragged them...
Look at it this way, your car is closer to a Trophy than a FF 182, as the Trophy was based on the Cup.
I went from a FF172, then FF182 with Cup packs to the Trophy and didn't miss a single one of the luxuries I'd lost. Same as with my 197 Cup, it's got everything I need.
If you aren't happy...
I went through all that with Vista 64. At the time there was a problem with 4gb machines and USB ports on boards with nforce chipsets!! That really got on my tits.
When I care more about the visuals than I do the drive. lol I love the V, the looks you get when driving one are worth it, but I'm not a fan of the driving experience. Plus I couldn't get a new one now.
I loved the 6. At the time the ph1 172 was about, and for me the GTi-6 had more to offer. I wanted a larger car for some reason. Probably because I was insecure and wanted a c**k extension to drive round in. lol Now I don't care what people think of my car, or the number plate on the Cup...
The floor was dirty Paul. The sales girl actually asked if I wanted it cleaning before I took the pictures!
Not sure why, but the Williams didn't grab me back then. I had the 306GTi-6 instead.
Seeing as Paul has a thread going with his current and previous Clios I thought I'd start one for mine.
2003 - Monaco Blue 172. Bought it new from Motorpoint as a parallet import. Kept if for 18 months and did 22500 miles.

When I...
I was thinking the same thing, I don't remember that when I took the picture. lol Maybe you should check out the rest: http://www.rapidpants.com/images/gallery/motors/2007/Trax/index4.html
I can do Saturday afternoon. Got to shoot over to Brum about 5, but I'm free before that.
I'm seeing a plan coming together. Cars/models and Cannock chase can only mean one thing. Dogging. lol
I'm sure we'll be able to find somewhere decent over the chase. With low speed bumps of course.
I don't mind taking a few for you mate. Give the camera and tripod a dust off.
I need to take some decent ones of the Cup.
I'll be around Saturday afternoon for a few hours, Sunday afternoon might be better though as I should wash the car before taking pics of it!!
Got anywhere in mind? Oh...
Yeah I'm with Direct Line. Because he asked me if I'd got any factory fitted options I declared the seats. It made no difference to the cost, they just made a note on the policy.
Cost me around £530 to insure the Cup this year. 16k miles, 3 points, one fault claim.
They asked, I answered honestly, not worth the hassle.
When you consider that you could add £6k plus to the value of a new Mini with options, they have to take it into consideration.
I told Direct Line I'd spec'd Recaros, they made a not on the policy, but there was no extra charge for them. It's worth telling them everything.
They asked if I'd added any factory fitted options so I told them.
Yeah. Originally I was due to have it mid Jan, then it got delayed until Feb so the dealer agreed to hold it for the 1st of March. The car then turned up early but I refused to take it any earlier so they stored it upstairs in the dealership for me. I don't like 5* plates for some reason. I'm...
It's undercover during the day. You should have given me a shout, 4 of us were lurking in the car park looking at my car and one of the lads new JDM CTR also in white.
As my tarrif is the lowest ever (I get so much off for being with o2 for 15 years) they charged me £99 for the handset. I could have had most for free but I fancied the N82. My line rental is only £12 a month. lol I need to remove some of my bolt on texts, but my monthly bill is usually...
I'm really impressed with the Nokia N82 I picked up last week. The sat nav works really well, not that I use it.
Battery life is also massively better than the E65 I had before it.
172 Cup has the full fat wheel with rubber grips as in the normal 172, only it has blue trim. Obviously without the Cruise Control buttons of the later 172s and 182s.
182 Cups have the dynamique wheel.
I had extra rear speakers put in and I can't complain. Does the trick, but then I'm not really that bothered by ICE, as long as I can here my choons and Moyles in the morning!
Spare was in, but not a great deal of petrol.
Here's a link to the video of me doing a 15.1: http://www.rapidpants.com/images/gallery/motors/2003//sp140903/FTOvs172.wmv
Don't worry, it was just a dig at DK. ;)
Although they do lose the fun factor of a high reving N/A engine for me. I was forever finding myself hitting the limiter in the Megane. Because the power delivery is very smooth and linear it doesn't feel as fast as it is. Same with the 197 when...
