That's spot on Ian. I took my mate out to show him how it went at the weekend. I got up to silly speeds without even trying but without the excitment and drama I'd get in the Trophy at those speeds. It's certainly a more mature car. It sort of reminds me a little of the previous model CTR.
Then to you the 182 is the better car as it fullfills what you want from a car more than a 197.
When someone says something is better they could be refering to so many different areas. The 197 is better built, it has a better interior, it has far better brakes. All those things are fact...
I asked when I ordered the car. Free mats was written in big letters on the order form. They weren't in the car when I collected it though, but it didn't take long to drop them in before I left. They're not bad mats really.
Maybe they got it wrong? Although there are alarms which will work with the original key, so it's not just the Cobra ones Renault install at the import centre.
Has it got National Security Register stickers in the windows? Imports don't have those.
The insurance won't make any difference, it's full UK spec I'd think. Parallel imports aren't a problem with insurance. The fact the garage would have charged you more than it's worth is what would have bothered me.
My 172 was an import from Motorpoint. When I chopped it in I was given £1k...
haha, that just highlights exactly what I said, because you're wrong. It doesn't feel slow and it still has a decent kick at 5k rpm. In fact the shift from 2nd to 3rd gear is fantastic, the 182 always used to feel like the gears were a little to largely spaced but the Cup just takes off. The...
I love the way people on here can make a judgement about a car they've never even driven!!
Did he even mention the car in that write up? Some good ranting though, and always an entertaining read.
I submitted the F & F paperwork but it wasn't used in the end. Bev managed to get me that deal another way. I had a look at the order form earlier, without options the car would have been just over £12k!! Bargain.
I don't want to post the actual amount, but it was close to £13k. Options where white paint, recaros, a/c and rear speakers.
I just read your other thread. That p/x value is excellent, but it's obvious they're making their money off the Cup. I was only offered £7k for my 182 Trophy, 05 plate...
Nice. I expect that'll make fairly swift progress. I had a diesel Megane with that engine last week and it went pretty well. It should be even better in the smaller Clio.
Nice wheels on it too. You should swap them when she's not looking.;)
I've not had it on the motorway yet to find out. I've had it up there but only as a short blast. To be honest it's never going to be great on the motorway, the exhaust not will see to that. I guess when I've ragged them on track in the past that's not so obvious from inside a helmet. It...
A couple of times. Mainly to overtake. Most the journey I was stuck in traffic. I can't believe I got stuck behind a farmer who had just been to collect his brand now 08 plate tractor!!!
Against the white the anthracite look by far the best to me.
There's only one thing I've noticed that it doesn't have that I'd quite like and that's a blind spot section on the drivers side mirror. Handy in Birmingham traffic, but I do check over my shoulder anyway.
Just need to swap the...
It's different Paul, very different. The weeeheeee you get when booting a 182 isn't there yet, but you're still going just as quickly. It's a more mature hot hatch. The build quality is massively better, it sounds solid when you shut the door.
I've only done 60 miles, but I'm hooked already.:D
Picked it up at 9 this morning. Just got home! I could have collected it at Midnight but the weather was shocking. I can't stop grinning, I love it. I'm not sure if I was this happy when I collected my previous 3 Renaultsport Clios, even the Trophy!!
I've got to say a massive thanks to Bev at...
I've just sold my Trophy to make way for a 197 Cup, which I pick up tomorrow morning.
You'll be able to pick one up for much less then £15k if you shop around.
Check out some of the work of one of the lads here. The car ones were done from Digital Photo images!!

The Type 25 was done for Litchfield imports. He's currently working on some stuff...
