It can vary chap but most common causes are electrical faults (poor ignition due to old plugs, poor injectors, general sensor degradation) or a mechanical fault (poor compression, incorrect timing).
Until you start looking though its hard to say exactly what it is.
Needs a proper data logging session then kid with a gas analyser up its arse - Be something s**t like CTS, Stat or H02 i'm sure though.
If we can cross paths somewhere i'll bring the laptop and one of my boxes of tricks and take a look.
How's your H02 looking on diags/scope? I know they use a wideband at the exhaust exit to data log the AFR but its still your U/S H02 and CTS that controls what happens fuelling wise still. Maybe time for a trip to see Fred again.
They're not making them at the minute. There's been a couple of attempts at reviving them with group buys but cannot get the numbers required for casting (as its not cheap).
NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
What you're saying is like going in to a strip club where on display are some of the seriously most stunning examples of female form Eastern Europe has to offer. They all want you Paul, no seriously they want YOU not just your Euro's but no you're just content to sit there and...
You do sacrifice some peak Jakey, not much but what you will gain is a flat and constant torque figure from 3k to the limiter. They make a great addition especially if you track your car.
I'm trying to find a cheap Megane III wheel with cruise so I can get my daily wheel done. He did a mint job on my 172's and actually miss a smart finished wheel.
Re: HELP!! Does anyone know where the central locking sensor is on a 99 clio grande??
Multi-timer Unit which is the body control module. It lives next to the glove box under the dash but you can't just grab one from another car amd fit it, they don't work that way... the vehicles security info...
For some reason it is nearly always 172 Cups that do it. Open the bonet and the noise isn't there. Back in the drivers seat and it sounds like the timing belt area and s***s you up. Put your ear to the drivers front wheel and you'll hear it ;-)
Yes its the fuel vapour/anti-pollution removal setup and the noise is normally from the purge valve activating.
Normally happens when the engine is warm and is stood idling in traffic. Revving it above 2k usually stops ot from happening for a few seconds.
