Easy there Gandalf, I thought you'd forgotten all about it. I've worked out the standard sender ranges so now its a simple case of fit a gauge then bring it to me and I'll make it work ;-)
No, the new engine isn't fully built up yet. Being fitted late next week then off for mapping on the 2nd
Yeah I'm a fan of the Satin finish myself. Matte is so 2003 and gloss looks tacky/needy in certain areas.
Daveski said I should've done the cover and breather plate in Red but...
1- its not a Honda
2- black is easier to keep cleaner in oily places like an engine bay.
The block is going...
The clutch is hydraulic so its unlikely that you'd 'feel' a fault with the slave cylinder (which is the part that actuates the pressure plate) at cold if it turns out to be this... this is why we need to try and pinpoint the fault before pulling it to pieces and potentially rebuild a box that...
The instructions say to allow it to air dry to achieve finish but I put it in to a paint oven to bake off for 2hrs.
Honestly impressed with the finish though and the pics don't do it justice. My car will look very dull being all black and silver but I likes it simple.
Upper timing cover...
Yeah it's what you'd call "needless crap" Tony but my camera phone refuses to take a clear/decent picture of it however it looks really good in the metal.
Well I've got a graph for the current setup with a nice flat torque curve. I'll have something to compare it to on the 2nd and if its worse I'll cry lol
Yeah that Russian RS2'd car did cracking figures until recently. I love the manifold myself but others don't and so refuse to try it.
Take all figures with a pinch of salt Fil_b. My midly modified Clio made 190hp @ RSTuning with 197 cams and an RS2 but it drives amazingly better on them than it did with the standard profile. I'm only going to 421's because I got them at a good price and I know the timing will be spot on with...
I didn't because I wasn't trying to tell people how to do the job. The manual is out there for people to download which allows them to give it a go but if they don't fully understand it they're gambling a lot. I wasn't having a go at anyone either Mark... i'm all for DIY'ing but I hate it when...
Because when i do them Mark i always change the camshaft oil seals as the dephaser is the common one for leaking. Yeah you "can" do the belt change with just the exhaust spinning (providing the crank sprocket is also spinning freely) but you've got to lock the pulley to remove loosen it and it...
Unlikely - CPS wouldn't give a solid red led nor would it flag any fault codes.
Solid red means the key is valid but an important system is not checking in via CAN.
Normally due to wiring issue/poor connection.
