Good to hear things are on the up for you, jobs can make a huge difference on all aspects of your life so it's important to be happy. I hate my job because of the f***s that work there, however i will be leaving next week so its all good. Didn't realise you were up Tamworth way, i was there the...
Yer the 2015 model is the 8V so next one up from mine, i did look at them, but thought better of it. Yer it's a great sleeper and a great all rounder. I did rotate the wheels at the weekend and they don't have make a racket now! Need them to wear in otherwise i will just have to swap them back...
So yesterday the car went to Auto Doctors which is run by my friend Stewart to have all the work below done.
* Engine oil & filter
* Spark plugs
* Air filter
* Pollen filter
* Fuel filter
* DSG oil & filter
* Haldex oil & filter
* Brake fluid
* Fuel pump cam follower
Think that is everything...
Can't really add much onto this, echoing what everyone else is saying. Lovely car, lovely pictures and words. Fancy doing something similar with mine haha.
Yer you are right it is pretty boring/soul less, but it is growing on me slowly. I think when it gets a bit more noise and speed under the bonnet it will bring out some more character. Why did you get rid?
At the end of the day i buy cars to suit me, i have learnt to just do what i want lol...
Haha i knew you wouldn't approve haha. The way i saw it i could of imported the Chaser or bought something else, but i need a package really. A car that does all things well. While i wanted a MK7 Golf R it was out of budget and i was a bit underwhelmed when i drove it. The S3 to me is the next...
When you take your foot off the throttle it stops the boost going back through the turbo etc. It's a common weak point on these TFSI engines and as such is classed as a serviceable item. I have replaced it with an uprated part so it will never need changing again and is more responsive. There...
So with the the new job and reduced commute i could afford to run something different. The Clio has a deposit on it and due for collection this evening.
It's a Audi S3 8P facelift, i must say i do love this car way more than i thought i would. It really is the complete package i wanted, quiet...
Went to Go Racing Motorsport in Aylesbury, the guy there is a ex BTCC engineer for Tim harvey ha.
Right big news, it's official! The Clio is going up for sale today, put a deposit on a new car today and pick it up next week so standby for a new build thread. I have got a new job as well which i...
Been a while since I have updated this, I have had the car setup and it's great. A lot of grip and gives you more confidence in the car. Apart from that I have just been putting fuel in and having fun for now. I think the car will definitely be up for sale soon tho. Last week I drove a Golf R...
Been an interesting weekend, drama never seems to be too far away from me lol. Yesterday took a trip down to Poole Lexus. Ended up buying this...
For any one interested its a IS 300h with a ton of goodies on it, really nice car. It's not my car lol it's my parents, i finally convinced them...
If you tell Andy before you go to ED he will have one ready for you to go, that's what he did for me. The new design requires two wires to be soldered i believe as it's a new type of plug.
I defo think its going to be an injector issue now if you have changed the plugs, leads and coilpack, maybe even pre cat lambda? Hard to tell without getting some logs from the car. You can get them new for around £30/35 each, injectors that is.
Thanks Steve. Think i might take the rear adjusters out to get some more lows, not sure how much lower the front can go without causing issues. Need some diff wheels to get it sitting 100%
Looks like we have sorted it, lowered the front and now its so much better! Also flipped the rear springs and adjusters as they were upside down apparently. Can't believe how much better it is now, just need a proper setup next week and should be good to go.
Mark, is there any reason why they are supposed to go that way. Did Bilstein say that? I was thinking it might be because the way the spring is.
Anyways been a busy night, on the way home got a call from Kev and he told me to come to the shop. Stopped by after work and we got it on the ramp...
Its probably because the adjusters are upside down. I think i also have some spare washers left over that came with the kit. I'll get a picture and hopefully someone can tell me what they are for.
Seriously?! Guess that's another job then, if the weather is decent at the weekend im going to have a look and adjust myself. Atm i have an issue with the temp gauge doing it's own thing.
Very strange when my TDC was playing up the car would just hesitate and want to cut out, defo didn't like slow speed. Could be the old injector issue or the usual sparks, leads, coilpack etc.
Right went to see @STEVE.M took him for a spin and he agreed it was too firm. Took his for a spin and its on GAZ's and it was like driving an S Class compared! I defo think mine is too high and thats the issue.
So i called Bilstein for some advice, basically the only thing that's going to affect the damping is the ride height. Either the car is too high or its too low. @Dr Jekyll are you on 16's still? Whats the height like on yours?
Anyone else running 16s and have pics?
