here is the video i put together when we first had the system done:

you shouldnt of needed to cut the original lines.
If you had got them from us we would of supplied the correct fittings.
Unfortunatly the hoses are a little long, but this is the only length compbrake supply them in.
As for the spongy feel, i can only guess there is air in the system...
Ok mark, BTB are very helpful.
I am sure they will help, maybe open it up and pack it with more baffling.
If the worst comes to the worst you shouldnt have a problem selling it, as most people know how good they are!
as said, the initial design of the system had an expansion box where the cat used to sit, to compensate for the removal of the cat.
Once we decided to just run a cat back system this was obviously lost.
How old is the system? As it seems they quiet down very slightly after a bit of use...
what scooby did you have? if you dont mind me asking?
As when i was hunting, i got alot of advice, and was basically told the WRX was a waste of time if coming from something like a 182, hence why i spent a few quid more and got a STi spec-c.
i was looking at EVO's, but once i found out about the servicing, i moved away.
Super short intervals 4.5k - 8k depending on model, and its not jsut an oil change, gotta do diff oil etc too.
Hence why i have a JDM Impreza Spec-C on order!
I sold my 182 recently, and am currently waiting for my JDM Impreza Spec-C to turn up (its on the boat!).
I am a little older (26), have a house, and a child. Thats kinda the reason for getting it, something bigger for the family, plus its quick and fun enough to do the odd track day and...
yeah sorry, i should of been more specific with makes and models!!
but like i say, all you have to do is look at BTB's history to see they know thier stuff.
But i guess at the end of the day, you pays your money and makes your choice!
good luck! :D
BTB at idle i would say is marginally louder than standard, but deffinately deeper.

Save nearly 100 quid! :D
Some sound advice from a fair few people there!
BTB's history and background should give you enough encouragement to buy one!
If thier exhausts are good enough for Aston Martin, Prodrive etc etc, they are good enough for us! :D
Best 182 system:

and thats proven, unlike every other system on here.
Not being biased... its fact :D
all the talk of locking the wheels up etc, yes its true that standard setup can lock the wheels at say 20, 30, 40 mph but they wont do it at 100mph like a set of powerful 4 pots will.
Not that you want to be locking your wheels at those speeds mind!
Many people are quick to dismiss 4 pots...
CAllipers are unbeleivably light compared to the standard items.
As are the discs, which helps unsprung weight!
The callipers are not dust sealed as such. The dont need to be, as they are precision made, from aircraft grade aluminium, so they wont corrode.
All that is needed is a quick...
BTB exhaust and a panel filter are your best starting points!

good thread, with some good questions asked.
Alot of people on here take what a few say as gospel, whether thier advice be right or wrong.
the more people question, the more we ALL learn.
