Ive got me an amp and sub but I cant decide how to set it all up.
Option 1 would be an off the shelf sub box mouted to the left of the boot with the amp screwed out of sight on one side of it so that it can easily be taken out of the car if I need to.
Option 2 Im thinking of would be to...
"yes love I promise if we get a 172 I wont do anything to it, its lovely and Im sure I wont feel the need to modify it at all!"
Well that was about 2 months ago and the Ice installs half done, Im saving for nitrous and toying with the idea of changing the wheels :)
Bearing in mind my cars...
I paid 12.5K for mine (on the road - watch out for that!) from www.thecarpeople.co.uk who happen to be based about 6 miles from my house. I rung round everywhere and that was the best price I could find about 2-3 months ago. Mines a euro import with two year warranty.
nice one fella. Good to hear your plubings in good order.
As for baby seats I thing a recaro with a matching leather/alcantara trim is in order. Oh and a subfram to bolt onto the top of your engine cover :)
Hmmm VX220 or Evo or Lotus Elise are my considerations for next car after the 172. I think the vx220 is favorite at the moment, maybe an evo if I grow up a bit hehehe
yeah I saw it saturday, got a pretty ddecent vcd copy of it. Not gonna win any oscars thats for sure but It was good for the cars.
They must have short gear ratios on those jap cars cos they seemed to be constantly shifting gear. We counted 7 gear changes on one car too lol.
yeah Im finding it well annoying. Silly thing is Im an alarm fitter so I should really be able to do it with my eyes shut but Im too scared of damaging the car lol. Might give it another go during the week, failing that the place I bought mu head unit from will do it for me for £40.
Right Ive located the grommet that the wires going to go through, just wondered how you actually get it through the grommet? Do you make another hole in it with a screwdriver or something?
Oh And I am struggling to get my dash of. On the guide on the homepage it says there are srews inside...
Getting your car lowered Id buy the stuff you want and go to a good old fasioned garage and get them to do the work. Ive had loads of cars lowered and in my experience places like ripspeed usually employ daft young lads who are inexperienced and highly likely to thrash the balls off your car...
hehe sneaked a look at the first bit and he does change gear about 18 times doesnt he and then hits the nitrous and somehow comes out of a 150 mph spin. Pretty much like a night down brighouse (our local cruise) on a sunday.
Ive aquired a pretty good copy and the lads are coming round tonight to watch it. I missed the maxpwer that had the cars in but I guess they are all jap beasts (no clios lol ) Just wondered if there was a storyline to this one cos the first one was a bit pants really.
Quote: I dont think there will be too many around to cause depreciation, they will probably be in short supply and demand might hold up prices.
This short supply thing that the dealers are trying to impress on everyone is just a classic marketing ploy. If renault, one of Europes premier car...
Well Ive been in car clubs of one sort or another more or less the whole time Ive owned a car (goin on 6 years) and if people do have an attitude towards other guys in the club with lower performance cars I think its wrong. Certainly when I was in the performance nova group the clubs bulk was...
ABS might not have helped all that much in that situation m8, even with abs you should never brake on a bend (probably easier said than done when theres bushed getting really big in the windscreen I know!) I rekon ABS is more of a taste thing it doesnt allow you to drive like a nutter and get...
How about ordering some renault ones from the 172 and changing them? Might be a bit more expensive but Ive heard horror stories about bolt on ones coming off.
Just nipped over the moors to Alpha Car Audio in Bolton nr Manchester and picked up a Kenwood KAC629s 350 W Amp with a 12" kenwood sub and a Wiring pack for £136! If you get it main order its (for some strange reason) cheaper at £99 + £25 post and Wiring if needed.
They have a weby...
Thing with the V6 is that its Evo money. Desirable as they are (at least to boy /girl racers like us lol) the car is simply not worth 26 grand, its just not. Reno can give it all the talk about limited production etc at the end of the day they will make however many cars they get orders for...
a lot of peiple scoff at silicone but it would deffo hold your floor down. Its good stuff (they glue fish tanks together with it so it must be strong!) Ive had sideskirts siliconed on before and they were fine.

DEH-P3500MP - Entry level mp3 compatible unit. Wasnt too sure about it at first but its growing on me. Sounds superb even with standard speakers.
brings a tear to my eye m8. My ladyfreind has managed to total 2 of the wheels on the 172. Thats a rate of one wheel per month old the car is!! Gonna get chips away to sort them.
As I mentioned in my other post Im told that to fit an autoleads adapter (pioneer) to my mk2 it involves taking the to pof the dash off to get to the back of the display because thats where the lead plugs into?? I cant see it myself but has anyone else had to do this??
Yeah Ive got the head unit in now but it was the stalk adapter that was left over and wouldnt fit into the autoleads adapter they gave me (it was for a mk1). Never had a pioneer HU before and Ive got to say theyre sweet.
