Thank you, it isn't my fault. I bought the shell with the rollcage still in it and that's literally all what was left in it. I went to view it to see in person what would be involved to get this Clio back on the road, everything! I mean everything. It was a tall order but i think i pulled it off...
Ok here you go! I mocked up one of my white Speedline 2118s to see how they'd look, i ended up selling them to finance a new set of FK Konigsport coilovers and went with the original OZ F1s.

Thank you :)
RE: holes i'm not sure whether to fit the 'Renault, Clio and Sport' badges on (either buy new ones or source 2nd hand) i think the chrome on them might not suit the car. Another option was to cut some 1mm thick carbon fibre in a parallelagram shape to cover them.
I'll try and...
It is indeed RS Tunings old shell, the plan now is to hook it up to the rollers for a power run to see how it does and to check the power curve. Yes with the shell stripped out, the loom stripped to the minimum with no leccy windows, heating, AC, central locking, stereo it should be fairly quick...
It's now on the road so i thought i'd take some pics of it, really pleased with the outcome. It's just how i wanted it to be, to me an understated, minimal look.

Re: White Trackday 172 Project
I had a cheeky drive up the road and back today, felt good but it won't be on the road properly until the 1st July
Me too TBH.....
Re: White Trackday 172 Project
Basically ticking off the 'To Do' list and just about there now, so i turned my attention to the interior and the dash. I'm going to use OE clocks so i needed to find a way of holding them in the phase 2 dash and in front of the rollcage that runs behind the dash...
Re: White Trackday 172 Project
I had it made by a local graphics company nearly 3 years ago, its like a silver 'carbon' look to try and match the look of the carbon weave....
Re: White Trackday 172 Project
I can't wait to get it out on track, will fit the grill and bumper back on with the new fixings I bought from Renault. The other job is to tidy up the interior loom, now debating whether to get a 2nd hand lower dash to cover the fusebox, UCH and loom. Might just...
Re: White Trackday 172 Project
A momentus day today, i bought this shell the 4th March 2011. So in only just over 3 months it's gone from a complete bare shell, to a Clio that fired up for the first time today. Literally the first turn of the key and it fired up. We ended up taking the UCH and...
Re: White Trackday 172 Project
Ok, had some spare time so i thought i'd put the stock interior back into the Odyssey blue 172. The chap who's taking it is bringing some wheels with him this weekend so it should be rolling then off the driveway ASAP.
Put the OE headunit back in
All...
It happened to me doing a hot lap on the Nurburgring, pedal went to the floor. Nursed it round and took it back to the hotel, jacked it up to find exactly the same. Managed to get another set of pads fitted to get home
Nickson, a fine example of a phase 1 and looks dam clean
Re: White Trackday 172 Project
Part No: 60 00 073 668 £27.06
The parts guy has been giving me discount so i paid £24.36, every penny saved helps. I've also ordered a black 90 degree silicone hose 70mm ID for the inlet to airbox so hopefully that'll be here by this weekend. Also bought some...
Re: White Trackday 172 Project
Fit the exhaust system
Fit the phase 1 fuel rail which has the FPR
1 of the indicators isn't working, we've found the wire just need to chase up the right 1 from the fusebox/relay end to join
Secure bottom part of the dashtop
Fit OE dash clocks for now until i...
Re: White Trackday 172 Project
Haven't really done much in the last 2-3 weeks, been sorting mechanical parts to try and finish it off and finally get it up and running which hopefully should be this Sunday.
Ordered a new exhaust to cat (or decat in my case) fitting kit, i have the old stuff...
You could try these
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Renualt-4-Hole-Wheel-Spacer-Kit-10mm-Longer-Bolts-/280675951681?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4159972441
15mm are the minimum size for hubcentrics as the heads of the bolts that hold the spacers to the discs will protrude on say a 10mm spacer. So it's either a 10mm spacer and longer bolts or anything from 15mm hubcentric or bigger.
The emulator sounds like a possibilty, i've actually just sorted the registration number from the car the ECU and UCH came from. I could ask my mate to dig deep with it and come up with the VIN number, Fab number etc, would this then give me a chance of getting the immobiliser code?
Indeed, a...
Correct with the V5, the 172 was broken for parts so i have no reg number, VIN number to hand. Wouldn't clearing the ECU get past dealing with the key scenario?
Ok Jonny, so what's the procedure. I take it you mean the plastic fob part of the key? Also how would i be able to 'code' the key, assuming you mean the same code that's on the ECU? Blank key direct from Renault, E Bay?
Apologies for the questions, i wish i sorted this earlier in the project build
Not sure on the colour, i'd have to check it tomorrow. I 100% know the UCH and ECU are from the same car as I took the engine loom and interior loom from it
Ok so this weekend coming the white Clio should fire up, but i believe the ECU needs clearing first. The UCH and ECU are from a silver phase 1, the key belongs to the white 172 so it doesn't match the UCH and ECU.
Is there somewhere in Essex that can do this or is there a reliable company i...
I bought the K Tec coilover kit about a year ago and didn't have any problems with leaking. Personally for what I paid I thought they were up to the job for everyday use and fast road. It gave my phase 1 a nice look when I had it lowered. I sold them on a few weeks back and after a quick clean...
