    MEGUIRS HEADLIGHT RESTORATION KIT

I used the kit but after using wet and dry. Works ok and polished out the scratches. Its just a bottle of Megs ScratchRX 2 with a drill buffer and microfiber cloth. You really need to use wet and dry 1st. The kit on its own isn't enough. Edit: having just Googled the 3M kit I'd go for that!

    BC Racing coilovers

A friend has them on her bug eye Scooby and they seem pretty good. Ride is decent and handles well when pushed.

Can I put an AFR/wideband sensor here...?

On my zetec turbo it was about 3-4" from the turbo. No problems.

remap with v-power in the tank

To prove all the doubters. Do a run with on the standard map, a run with a RS tuner 98 ron map and then the custom map ;)

remap with v-power in the tank

Personally I'd buy a used RS tuner (or someone might lend you one locally). Buy the unlock code and a 98ron map (unless one is available already). So cost could vary between £45 min and £160 max. Plus you save on having to travel. And the difference is going to be about 0.5bhp, seriously it's...

    ITB'd Road & Track Ph1 Titanium 172

Re: Ph1 172 Taking the car back to a friend's garage today to have a few things sorted. First is a 182 manifold and a Ktec link sports cat. The Piper cams are going in along with a new belt, seals and dephaser. The rest of the belt kit was done 5k ago so just changing the belt. All the tie...

remap with v-power in the tank

Unless your running cams, ITBs or boost then save your money and get a RS tuner 98ron map on there.

Re: Ph1 172 I tried one of the Cobras but it sat further back than the standard seats which is no good with the little ones in the car so they got picked up yesterday. Shame really as they gave a great driving position and are very comfy. Put the drivers seat back in without the spacers though...

What have you done to your car today ???

Gave my headlights a polish up (I just used 2500 and some ScratchRx, could have done with starting from 1500 though), did the side strips black and gave the car a polish and wax.

I remember measuring it and I think it was either M4 or M5 fine but I'm not 100%

    Core plugs

Thanks :) I don't suppose you have a number for the gasket between cat to exhaust system flange on the 172?

Anyone got the part numbers for the 172 core plugs? The two black ones between the head and rocker cover.

    Setting up camber bolts

I had my alignment measured and the camber on the front is 0. This is after lowering the car a couple of weeks ago. What is the most camber I can get with camber bolts? Also the rear is -1.5 left and -1.25 right. I've got some Eibach adjustable camber shims which suit Laguna mk1, megane...

    Bargain 595 RS-R's

Mine are ok so far but I don't do many miles tbh. Got a track day in 5 weeks at Anglesey so I'll push them a bit. I'm not sure what to get the camber set to though...I don't want them to wear the insides on the road but I want enough camber for track.

    Tar pads

Best using an angle grinder and wire brush for the roof in that case.
  16. Grandpa Joe

    Tar pads

I was just going to start with the 6 on the floor :) Doing the rest (bar the boot floor) involves taking things out so it's likely to remain intact. At least for quite a while anyway

    Tar pads

There are 6 tar pads on the floor of the Clio, 2 in each front foot well, 2 under the seats and 2 in the rear foot wells. Does anyone know how much these weigh? Whilst I've got the seats out I thought I'd scrape them off if they weigh enough.

    Rear discs

My rear brakes are down to the metal and the discs are worn too. Are the discs, pads, bearings and abs rings the same on all mk2 Clio sports or do they differ? I've got a ph1 172.

Are the lugs that are cut off for the pre-tensioners then? Or do they bolt elsewhere?

    Prima racing cams

You mean 428s? Yes I believe they are fine but to get the best from them a remap is advised.

    Prima racing cams

Cams £295, remap £300, decat is optional. Then you need to factor in fitting cost, do you need a cambelt kit? Is it worth doing the dephaser pulley? And so on.

    Prima racing cams

    No they're not

I found out later on they are the exact same profile as the Catcams 428. Just much, much cheaper!

    Subframe mounts for seatbelts

Got a pair of Cobra subframes today to fit my Daytonas but two lugs have been cut off, one per frame. They can be seen in the centre of the photo, unfortunately I didn't notice this when I looked and the seller didn't mention anything. Can anyone tell me if this is for the belt plug or the...

Rear wheels are sticking out more to the n/s than they do on the o/s

Mine seems to sit a couple of mm further out on the OS than the NS but doesn't affect the car. Everything is straight!
