Because the pads backing plate has been in use for years on other Renault's. Renault then decided to tweek the design for the X65 by adding a shim to the assembly and not everyone bothered reducing the plate dimension to suit by around -1mm
Yeah, didn't Corky do something at Bedford? He said there's an oil leak to but I've not seen the car so can't really say any more until he's decided what he'd like to do with the car or I've seen it.
Spoke to Tim this morning and he said when he went from 3rd to 4th the revs went mentally high so I'm *thinking* he may have over-revved it which has dragged the crank. I've said I'll help him out if I can though with it if he goes the new engine route (most viable option IMO).
No that's my hardcore Megane Cup race car... the Clio is being made from 2" square pine to save weight.
Not entirely sure on the single series yet is the honest truth as there's so much work to be done but yes, is the simple answer... this is what I have planned building it for.
Yeah me to but I take every engine build personally so like to know what happens to them after they leave me.
He said he went for 3rd and not sure if he missed it or got it but the revs went sky high so clutched it and turned off when he stopped. Went to restart and nothing so I'm guessing it...
Spoke to Tim about it just after 9 this morning and from what he said it sounds like its over-revved :(
He's going to sit on it for a while because it needs tax and MOT but I think we'll just end up helping him fit a replacement engine when he's ready.
It's all down to driving style and personal interpretation so completely a "horses for courses" issue but I will never buy or recommend anyone buy DS2500's as an "Upgrade" when the OE Brembo compound does the same on both road and track for less. This is what I always buy from George/G-172 when...
I *try* to please Ryan and its not very often that I loose an engine as an actual fault of mine or the parts I fit but i'm only human and if wee play the odds it's bound to happen eventually. In the last 10 years I've actually only lost one to date and that was down to changing the top covers...
I'm a bit late on this one but my 10 pence worth...
I didn't rate the DS2500 and I killed a set of Brembo discs and these pads on track earlier in the year. Not a particularly amazing stopper either IMO especially not for the money.
I run the DS3000 now but that's not what we're on about here...
No, they should all be the same but if the front wheels were spinning faster/slower it would obviously alter the output reading. Seeing as you are getting a reading/wave generation though I'd say that's unlikely to be your issue.
Tim,
I'll give you a shout later on this. I know the belt change is now out of warranty being over 12 months but if its my doing/failing I'll try to help out with this. Really need to see what's occurred though so don't go unbolting stuff just yet. Anyone been doing anything work wise...
I've only ever really looked at the Odessey units (which are noticeably lighter) but are they *really* worth it when you can buy something like a Bosch S3/4 in 063 or smaller for £43 which in the above situation would surely have allowed you to push on for longer?
(Honest question BTW)
What I believe they're saying Bruce (hello BTW) is that CLIP is the best option as it will categorically state that the SRS Module is in fact okay or not.
I know other bits of kit are "strong" on the Renaults but you will never beat the OE tool on any marque IMO.
What I think is the problem...
"Richie, can I use Google on your... Yeah, I'll go see John"
The guy is a complete legend but can you imagine being on the interview panel when he walked in? #justsayin
