Your mac from 05 is worth considerably more than a PC of the same age though, so you're effectively getting a much better return on it and a lowering the price of a replacement mac.
Oooh.....didn't know that, have they got many phones based on UIQ?
Maybe they're taking the hint that their UI is shite which has always been a shame because they have made some nice looking phones.
Is UIQ any more stable than S60 given that they're both symbian based? Is it slow?
Transmit is bloody brilliant, I've been using in conjunction with TextMate (and growl notifications) for yonks - brilliant combination!
Windows sucks big style. Take yesterday at work....
Our current building management system uses a whole load of embedded slaves and a windows master. We had...
I just did a online store for our company because all the off the shelf solutions i tried were, quite frankly, crap.
We have a number of very special requirements for some of the products, so it was easier just to roll my own. Took quite a while start to finish though, but worth it in the...
Richer sounds have the 26LC2R for £299. I was looking at it in tesco today (450!!) and it has a cracking picture. We're going to get one of these for the bedroom, although that link to the 3R is a slightly higher spec, but isn't on the UK lg website!
If you think linux is comparable to OS X then I'd suggest you go and live with both of them for a month, OS X has a far better user experience than you'll get from gnome, kde or [insert you favourite window manager here].
One of the problem with windows is the registry, it was possibly the...
I'd go for a macbook unless you have very specific needs for the larger screen and better graphics chip.
My G4 tower (which my girlfriend has) is about 5 years old and still flies! I'd like to change to a MBP or possibly MB but I can't justify it because my powerbook is still more than...
Dunno. Didn't read the link that was posted. I don't think there are any serious problems with DMG files as they are so common in OS X.
Something I've never tried that might "hide" a folder from the finder.
Open a terminal.
try renaming a folder so it starts with a . (fullstop) i.e "mv fred...
Just create an encrypted disk image and put your files in that.
You can't password protect a folder as it is protected by your user permissions - other users on the system can't access the file unless you specificially give them access to it.
I actually look at computer shopper as more of a comic than a computer magazine! The amount of crap I've read in their articles is astonishing!
I just thought it was an amusing tagline, I didn't actually read the rest of it I just saw the picture and text and pissed myself laughing.
Maybe...
No problem. This chip is used by the bucketload because of how easy it is to integrate into products. We've used this chip in the past because you don't have to worry about writing code at either the device side or host side.
You should find lots and lots of modules/cables based on it. And...
My car stereo runs linux. :) Boots from cold to playback in about 5 seconds. Got 2 laptop harddrives in it and is standard DIN mounting (but no onboard amps)
Embedded systems rule.
<input type="text" name+'email' value="" style="border:dotted;border-width:1px;border-color: #CCCCCC; height:20px;" />
That should be name='email' not name+'email'
I suspect that's the root cause of your problems.
I've got a monaco blue 172, it was the nicest colour in the brochure at the dealers when I was deciding imho!
Never seen another one on the road though.
dug up one of the op amps at work today....
it's a PA50. linky
These things are awesome. It still cracks me up when I see the heatsink attached to them because it's massive - we also ran fans over the fins as well!
I should post a picture of the development instrument, it's pretty impressive...
