Exactly. This is what most PC owners don't get. My old G4 tower (733) still runs super fast even today on the latest version of OS X. I'd like to see a PC of the same age do the same with the latest version of Windows!
Gave it a nice big speed bump as well by chucking in another 512 meg of...
It's considerably faster than safari 2 when rendering large pages (i.e 4000 or more "lines"), infact it's instant where safari 2 wasn't - was my only gripe with safari.
For all you pr0n viewers, safari has a rather nice feature called "private browsing" which doesn't store anything in the...
Actually it's more specific than that, it's only available in cocoa applications that use the text control - anything that doesn't conform to that it won't work in as there are no api calls to hook into it, at least in Tiger. :rasp:
It is a very useful feature though, I do use it quite often.
You wern't in homebase (Huntingdon) the other night were you Tom?
There was a cup in the car park with "tow" on the front bumper, thought it might have been you.
lol. Crucial are owned by micron who are a major manufacturer of RAM chips!
Crucial were one of the vendors for the power pc mac memory, so it's more than likely that the RAM that is in your iMac is from them anyway.
Re: I f**king hate windows
We have a 2k PC at work that was using a UPS. I had to switch it off because the power was going to be off longer than the UPS could cope.
Shut it down.
Left it for 3 or so hours.
Turned it back on and it wouldn't boot. Would get all the way to the end of...
Yeah, massive changes. I first started using linux in 94, can't even remember what window manager I was using back then, other than it was just the standard X toolkit. I used solaris a lot with CDE and that was awesome.
Linux needs a de-facto standard GUI API, having both gnome & KDE isn't...
As title!
Today/Tonight....
Yellow V6 in aylesbury going round a roundabout (looked like it was doing a u turn).
Yellow 1*2 (think it was a 172) about 6:30 ish (give or take an hour) heading towards bierton/aylesbury from wing.
Click on the bit that says "par viewer" next to the file, that will show you all the files that are part of the post, you should then see the auto unrared file which you can download.
As for your green text that must be a feature of your player.
speed download, but unless you've got a mac, that piece of software will be useless!
I've used FDM with a PC before loads of times without a problem. Just sounds like a browser integration issue.
griffs guide doesn't apply as this is a web based interface.
Simply go to:
members.easynews.com/global4
and then in subject field type in whatever you are looking for, nudge nudge, wink wink.
Hit search and a couple of seconds later all the matches will appear. Save the files you are...
True. Only way to shape easynews is by the server IP though as it's just a normal HTTP transaction, so in that respect it's at the top of the pile in terms of the possibility of it not being shaped to hell!
I know in the past plusnet were doing this though, I ditched them long ago though!
Remember to tell your downloiad manager to use multiple connections, say at least 8. I max out my connection no problem from the easynews server so you'll go as fast as you possibly can.
Right..easynews..
1) You don't need newsleecher or any NNTP client because it's a web based interface. You just use your favourite download manager (getright, free download manager, flashget etc) to download at super fast speeds from the easynews server.
2) Because it's a web based...
You don't need newsleecher with easynews....
..detailed explanation of how easynews follows in following message incase you all end up buying newsleecher for no reason!
astraweb and easynews are the best I've ever used.
I've been continually signed up to easynews for six years now. Web based interface, auto unrar, par, thumbnail etc. No pissing around with nntp headers and all that crap.
20Gb a month or so but unused quota rolls over and accumulates for...
I'm with sky too, very happy. :)
Even happier as last week they went active in our exchange with their own equipment, so hopefully very soon I'll be going even faster.
