Unless the block got damaged and it's leaking into combustion chamber some how. Saying that the bores should have been checked when honed. Strange one. Not healthy to use that much oil though, unless they stuck a wankle under there ;)
So basically some garages don't know the correct methods, and will always fall short. They shouldn't be allowed to sell kit with incorrect instructions as surely the likes of gates would be liable for any issues that are likely to occur.

I was looking at a gates cambelt kit the other day which comes with a guide on how to do it with pics. Now it makes sense to me, but doesn't anywhere mention that you need to use the pully locking tool. Only the crank and cam. Surely this is a recipe for disaster as the cam locking tool is quite...
Anyone know this? My mates just got one, but it doesn't fit the ph2 plenum. Didn't realise there was a size difference, which makes me think it's the wrong one.
