What's the TV in question?
Normally there will be an indication/symbol/reference next to the respective scart socket and/or it will be indicated in the manual as well.
You could plug the scart socket into the kettle and the Sky box will still allow you to switch between PAL and RGB. The point being unless the scart socket is plugged into an "RGB Enabled" scart socket on the TV changing the output on the Sky box will make F all difference.
Low bitrate digitally compressed material (Sky SD, Cable SD) does look pretty pants on LCD TV's compared to CRT's. Not much you can do about it unfortunately.

One thing they have going in their favour is they provide a forum for Be members (customers) only and they are quite forthcoming and approachable with information.
If there is a problem or you need any help it saves either phoning Virgin (India is it now?) or messing about with the gimps on...
Fine to be fair mate. Don't get me wrong there's been a couple of outages in the 6 months I've been with them but as a whole they're excellent.
