Yeah cheers. I'd seen that guide before. Perhaps I should have explained myself properly. By "starter" guide I meant something for the absolute novice. I.E To clean your car professionally you will need X, Y, Z etc with recommendations on what products to buy or recommendations of kits for novices.

"If" that's the cpu you have in your possession then it's clearly not you one you paid for and not what was specified in the Ebay auction. What makes you think it's the AXDA3000DKV4E and not the AXDA2800DKV4D? I guess you're looking at what's printed on the chip?

That's a Barton core Athlon. The multiplier should be 12.5 for the cpu in question (I.e 166.6 * 12.5 = 2083MHz)
