I know Lotus recommend running in the Toyota/Yamaha units in for 1000 miles using no more than 4000rpm. They then get an oil change at 1000 miles, check over, then its all good to go. If it was me i'd run it in regardless but each to their own and all that.

The same thing kinda goes for locking wheel nut keys. Car companies only make about 8 different ones so essentially you locking wheel nut key would prob fit at least one other Clio at a fair sized meet.

I've driven a 172. I've driven a 172 Cup. Iv'e driven a 182 FF and i've driven a V6. Not wanting to get anyones back up but the 172 was...well...almost a bit dull. The 172 Cup...which i own..still astounds me. The 182 FF has the toys and does feel a bit quicker top end but i don't like the...

Cup without doubt....and not just because i own one...honest!

On an even happier note, V6 fuel costs the same as 172 fuel!;)

Well they have done the job at the big end of the gearbox....now just need to make the 1st and 2nd gears mega short to compensate!

Have to agree. The roads round here are dire. Their idea of resurfacing is throwing all that sodding loose sh*t over the road, sweeping it into the holes and then letting every other inconsiderate tosser fling it at your car at 50 mph!!

This makes even less sense....my friends Esprit V8 350 costs £190 to tax for 12 months. Why does my 2.0 cost £205??!

Only 70mph at 4k?! Blimey.... Its about 80 @ 4k in the 1*2. It does seem to me that patience is the best ploy with the 197. You gotta wait a bit until they start introducing improvements . At least they've made an effort with the gearbox on the newest ones. Engine next perhaps?

In nearly 3 years i've found it once at the very end of 3rd gear. Its not exactly the best thing to be repeatedly seeing IMO.

I've seen a Monaco Blue 172 around Ripley recently Richard.....could be the same one. And when you say "followed" do you actually mean you were swarming all over its arse?? Hehe.. Then again probably not. Newlands Corner is a known Elise/Exige killing area. Especially when its moist.
