just a note; invest means by definition "expend money with the expectation of achieving a profit - financial or material"
Therefore putting a 2 litre lump a 1.6 & the inherent cost is not an 'investment' however the world would be a very boring place if people didn't do these things -...
Interesting, I have always been told that once the airbag fault has been registered it can only be turned off due to its seriousness - ie fault with airbag is a no no.
had 205's on my 182, now have 195's on AST coilies. The only difference good or bad is that the 195s do not follow tramlines in the road like the 205s used to (lorry ruts etc) so under power it seems more under control - especially when cornering.
Cant give a reliable opinion on performance as...
oh didn't read your post properly, if your airbag light is on you can only get it turned off by Renault to the tune of £100+
When you are disconnecting airbags/pretensioners you should unplug the battery to prevent them going off (small chance but possible) and to prevent the airbag light...
mmm search on here for carbon canister, you can take them out although I don't think it is a good idea personally.
Just my 2 pence worth, let me know what you find out. The simplest way to do it will be to plug it into a diagnostics and see what the fault code is tbh.
It turns off after a distance driven - off the top of my head I think it is 200 miles.
mines comes on every couple of weeks dues to a faulty rear lamba that isn't even doing anything (decatted - so wrapped in tape and tied up under the car.) It did this before and after decatting. I had it on...
no need, this will cancel the radio code and just generally be a PITA. It turns off after a distance driven - off the top of my head 200 miles.

I think the saying goes eibachs for show, Aphex for go (or was that the other way round lol). Heard good things about the eibachs and heard that the Apehex's can be a little hard but good when you driving hard. I considered both but having listened to other peoples comments went the coilie route...
could be movement in the joins in the system, especially if you have those cr*py collar, dome shaped joins - cat/catback etc. Pinch them up see if it helps.
yeah get some weight on the top strut chassis in the engine bay and give it a bounce see if anything is awry. Apart from that its hard to diagnose via the tinterweb lol
Another thought - did you take the shock right out to fit the topmounts? If your running coilies you haven't by chance left...
before putting them on it may be worth rubbing them down with some dremel action ;) inside - especially is you can see a nonuniform finish with the naked eye? (just on the face that fits onto the hub face!)
mmm have you tried getting some weight on the top struts and bouncing the car (as much as you can) see if you can see anything moving?
+ is this in a straight line driving or just turning?
lastly, does it make it when you come off a bump - like a speed bump - almost like a topout clunk?
With...
did you tighten the topmounts with the impact gun with the car on the floor or with it in the air?
As 172ben says you shouldn't use the impact gun to tighten it if the shock is not weight bearing as you will just spin everything up top. Doing it when the cars on the ground will tighten it up...
^^ ask fred mate he'll know, but I would guess that some paint had set in a drip or similar ununiform finish causing the wheel to not sit true. This could also be effecting the tight fit onto the hub - just my guess?
+ is it every wheel??
I didn't think the backs of the wheels should ever be painted and lacquered as it could ruin the fine tolerance they have for fitting square on the hub.
Are you able to get them on the hub at all? or once on are they wobbling?
they should sit fine on the hub, however you might need spacers to move them out from the hub a little. (depending on which direction the offset is wrong in?)
EDIT just seen your post. Well they should just go straight on then tbh.
