Off topic a little bit, apologies, but what is the standard head unit in a Cup? Did they stick with the CD player, or resort to a tape deck to 'save weight' ;)
Also, did they ditch the CD changer, to genuinely save a bit of weight!?!
It's pretty difficult to get much out of the engine without spending silly money. It generally seems the best way to get better performance is to save weight.
It takes patience...
Spent a good 4 hours giving the Golf a spruce-up and, then, as I'm chatting to the old dear as I'm about to leave, she leans up against the car and rests her arms on the roof.
Damn it, I nearly pistol-whipped her. Turns out I don't have a pistol...
Hmm, the ph1's are getting to around that price now, you can pick up mint silver ones for £3500, so I'd expect an average one for £3000 and maybe a higher mileage one for less...
Definitely mate, I'm amazed you haven't had more interest in your's. Reckon attaching some pictures to your advert both on here and PH may help a lot.
Cheers Justin, that's the badger.
Not yet mate, someone's coming around on Monday to have a look but they're already asking me what the lowest I'll take is so I doubt they'll offer me enough...

S25 CUP - was that Chris'?
EDIT: Sorry, can't seem to specify the search properly... it's on there anyway! £5,995.
Looks good mate, if it's just been clayed and washed I'd recommend getting it polished, sealed and waxed also - it'll protect your hard work and also look shinier!
I'd say if you're going to go for an orange theme, then do the badge, mirrors and strips. Could look pretty trick :)
As said, I'd just say you've heard that Renault dealers forgot to fit them to some (truth) and you've never bothered getting it sorted and then knock £50 off.
Anymore decent interest?
I think the ph1 172 had one of two types of cat, some were double, others weren't.
As for the rest, the clutch is stiff (and I miss the stiff clutch now I no longer have one!), alloy pedals are standard and slippery / dangerous when your feet are wet! and the exhaust adds little / no power, so...
If you can't afford to insure a car correctly, then you really can't afford to buy the car in the first place mate. It's the harsh truth I'm afraid.
Don't insure a car on TPFT if you will be seriously screwed if you crash it. It is A LOT of money to throw down the pan at the risk of something...
