you should of removed the pullys before taking the cover off,
you need to remove the pullys to remove the cover now, which wont be easy, soft jaw vice ? lol

that was from wheels down! also bagged up all the nuts and bolts and marked them etc! did it solo bar needed some help with lifting and baring the engine at the end!

i know, there not really needed, but if the rods are coming out for pistons, then for £400 for some china rods, cant complain, i would of left the BE, but again, its not my car
can rev it higher for longer with the rods, well not much past 7900 (stupid lifters and poor head flow) :)
think GDI use QEP rods? which are pretty good, rated to 150hp (same as woosner etc)
i suspect rods and pistons have been fitted to up the comp, plus they need to rev it more as it wil...
ok so tonight im gona remove the engine from my 172 from the top.
problems are;
i am in the side single garage which is tiny! cant even get the jack under side on LOL
there is only me to do it
that time will include drianing all the fluids and removing the bonnet , bumper, slam pannel etc...
