The 172 Cup is the only RS Clio that doesn't drop as much as the others on Sportlines.
Don't get me wrong....it drops alright, but its not as obvious as it is when you put Sportlines on a FF 172/182 with or without Cup packs.
I put them on Deb's 182 which is Cup packed and it easily dropped it...
Hmmmmm....metal filings in the oil cap sounds ominous. Some parts inside have got rather cosy with each other by the sounds of things
So no sign of where the oil has escaped from? Remember you've done some track work in that car so if the oil was low after that and you've driven it a long...
Snap! Put mine on Sportlines last night and like you i didn't notice much change.
I had Prolines on anyway so i measured the heights before and after.
The front dropped 10mm (so its now about 20/25mm lower overall from the standard setup) and the rear has barely changed but obviously there is...
2002 172 Cup
8/10 i reckon. A few little things im fretting over like the elusive knocking from the drivers side which i still haven't found after 2 years, and the squeeking clutch pedal that im hoping is a simple fix!
Other than that im chuffed with it. Sportlines have just got on and im now...
Hmmmm....im not convinced...are you sure its not in KPH???:clown:
Sorry...just thought i'd mimic the typical reactions of some people on here when it comes to videos of speed!:quiet:
;)
I wouldn't want any of the toys that the FF has....my lights are bright enough, my seats are comfier, i can drive well enough not to need traction control and ABS and i simply open the window when it gets warm!
I found it made mine less jerky during gearshifts at slower speeds.
And anyway, its only a butterfly valve that opens and shuts.....one less thing to restrict any airflow can't be bad.
Barsteward! I nearly choked on my tea when i read that....i've never clicked a thread so fast.
I did exactly the same to one of my fronts the other day....not long been refurbed as well!
All good points.
Except......i didn't sweat this summer....it hasn't been hot enough.
I haven't fallen off the road in two winters and i haven't yet found a standard FF that can cut it compared to my Cup.
Although this very non standard FF has been a great B road pace for me on a few...
Silliest thing? Thinking that i could outrun a DB9 on the A3 early one morning.....needless to say the bloke was rather unimpressed and i pulled over rather sheepishly and let him past.:o
Can't fault me for optimism...:clown:
Its a better flowing exhaust (4 - 2 - 1 manifold on the 182) between them and thats about it.
I've driven my girlfriends 182 a few times and i keep saying mine feels quicker, and thats not me being biased either!
Hers feels better bolted together mind you...
I have a friend who has a 225 Cup and after showing a Type R who's boss at the weekend he has decided to look into remapping as he's power hungry.
Does anyone have any experience of remapping a Megane and if so who's best at it?
Also what kind of gains in terms of bhp can be expected?
Any info...
The K series Elises do run out of puff but the 190bhp Yamaha unit (yes they are Yamaha not Toyota made) Elises are 150 mph cars.
Performance Through Lightweight....that the main point of the Loti.
Not everything on a car is faultless no matter what the mileage....it just depends when these problems decide to appear!
Unlucky you've had a duff shock fitted to your car....im sure it'll be easily fixed though.
I saw this colour for the first time the other night when Saner bought the car over to me to fit his Sportlines....even though it was dirty it still looks fantastic.
