I have a set of 172 FF wheels that i bought with the intention of using in the winter as the Turini's are now mint and i'd rather keep them that way but i can't stand the look of the FF wheels on the car!
Make it look skinnier and dare i say it...boring!
Tempted to buy it, rob a bank near where Lusty lives, use it as a getaway car and then get him blamed for it.
Then again using THAT as a getaway car......more like a getarrested car.
I was talking to Saner about the very same setup on his 182 last night and he says the pedal feels softer than he has been used to in his past cars.
I have the same pad and disc combo anjd really the best thing to do is give it some beans on some deserted roads and then throw the anchors...
Check the caliper bolts are tight. If the pads have been changed recently then they might have come loose.
They are supposed to have threadlock applied to them as well, hence why they are a be-itch to undo the first time round!
We have the trade version (basically the same stuff) called Autoglym Express Wax and i use it as a fast and easy to use sealant for when the car has been chamois dried.
Gives good beading and water run off.
Another Autoglym product i use is Liquid Hardwax which is basically a more durable...
In the outside lane moving slowly in the traffic just up from me approaching the Cathedral slip road going southbound.
Looked pretty standard and no stickers. No doubt another unfamiliar!
I wouldn't bother with Renault for servicing once the car is out of warranty. There are plenty of decent Renault Sport specialists out there (and in here) who have more knowledge and are ultimately cheaper than Renault directly.
Depending on where you are based (and which of the so called...
Fletch, what signs did you get that the driveshafts were on the way out? Just that i am trying (desperately!) to find the source of a noise i have on mine and one suspicion of mine is the drivers side driveshaft...although i bloody well hope it isn't!
Well i've driven a Ph 1 172 Exclusive and i was smitten but then it was my first ever taste of a Clio Sport.
Lots of torque steer on the one i drove but then again i wasn't used to the power having only had a 1.2 up till then!
Also driven a Ph2 172 FF, a 182 FF and a V6 and i rate the 172 FF...
Now thats rather amusing
As far as i can tell, i drive it normally when im driving anywhere built up and then when the road permits i give it beans, but i wouldn't say i drive like a fart at all.....just ask my girlfriend!
She has a 182 and she doesn't drive as fast as i do when im...
Wow! Such a common problem and still no definate cause and cure! I've been under mine today trying to find anything that maybe moving about....all looks fine! Grrrrr!
Trying to eliminate things. I don't think its strut related or engine mount related so its either bushes, wishbones or im...
Ive had this noise on and off since i got the car. Its from the engine bay without a doubt and it sounds like something juddering or moving about when the car goes over uneven or closely spaced bumps in the roads.
Im starting to think its not suspension strut related and its not heavy knocking...
"Supie" as its well known that Steve Mcqueen had a wreckless, fun loving fast driving, beer swigging, less than squeeky clean side to him, known as Supie, so i've adopted it as a name for the Cup.
Have you not read the topic of the thread bright spark?
Its about MPG and in my first post i simply gave a couple of tips to save fuel. Actually i distinctly recall you saying that they were good ideas..
Instead of braking hard at the last minute when approaching a junction or a give way sign...
Whats there to argue about? My point was that coasting should be done in gear as its less dangerous...thats a known fact.
So why the need to question it?
"When you coast, keep the car IN GEAR, not in neutral".
"What I failed to mention though was the fact that you should keep your car in gear as you coast. Many drivers, especially those with manual transmissions, tend to put the car in neutral as it coast towards the red light or stop sign...
