i have been doing track days in my saxo VTS for the last few years. i am addicted!!!
they are the best and safest place to get the most of your car. Track days have allowed me to learn to control the car under heavy braking, when the back end gets light, its taught me how to control lift off...
well i wish they would sort it!!
when it went in for first time, i said it only happens at high revs, needless to say when i got car back, after they road tested it, and sorted it, MPG had dropped to 17!!!
so roadtest was at high revs for a long time!!
people are morons if they pay dealer prices!
firstly, brake pads couldnt be easier to change, so give it a go, and secondly, a back street garage would do it for half the cost. finally, why would u wanna put standard items back on?!!?!?!?
hey guys, can you look at my thread here...

and help me out???
cheers people!!
OMEX ECU is an awesome bit of kit, i have one on my throttle bodies track day VTS.
no doubt you would get better gains with an OMEX as its infinitivly adjustable and mappable.
what sort of duration is on the cams?
speaking from saxo experience here, if you go higher lift etc, do you need...
any hot hatch under hard braking will go very light at the back. Just something you need to get used to.
as for the handling, i am a little suspect about mine too. but i think this is boecause i am used to the grp N peugeot sport suspension of my saxo track car!
also the cup really doesnt...
Ben j - seats are Cobra imola 2s in Kevlar, very comfy, hold you well, and the lightest seats cobra do! as for brakes, they are hi-spec billet 4 pots, on a 285mm 2 peice disc. They are pretty good, tho i keep boiling the fluid, gotta get me some race luquid!!
papa? - car is on GMCs throttle...
i ran mine nicely for about 200 miles, then just started to increase revs bit by bit on each trip.
modern engines these days are so strong, and not forgetting a 3 year warrenty, if the worst does happen!
just make sure engine is up to temp, and have some fun!
y0z2a - no strut tops on rear of saxo, tho the cage does fit onto the rear, as the rear beam bolts to cage and car, so it is an integral part of it. its a FIA sparco jobby!
Fred2001Dynamic - different car, as said before!
RobFenn - dread to think what its cost me. spent about £6500 on engine...
Snufty - are you JU from PGTi forum???
big_tymer - i was indeed at bedford, tho had to leave early due to gearbox problems!
Chris nnic - yep that was me!
rory182 - he sold the xsara a while ago, he has a C2 GT now, and a Belingo for towing his saxo!
he was looking to sell the saxo recently, for about £10k!
not sure if he still works in the bike trade!!
but anyways!!
i am a new 182 cup owner, and am very impressed with the seats, theya re very comfy, and support very well! which helps when throwing the car through a corner!
rory182 - L10 USH is owned by dave sharp, it is his, but is kinda like a GMC motorsport demo car.
it is a VTS, running throttle bodies, worked head, cams, etc etc. pretty high spec. it runs about 180ish bhp if i remeber correctly.
saxo has put down some 0-60 times etc, but that was before the throttle bodies, uprated torsion bars etc, so they are pretty much null and void!
Snufty - yes two sets of compomotives, MOs and TH3s. awesome wheels!
Daz - no, L10 LUSH is a different car, which used to be two tone, but with...
1fast6 - it was/is a vtr, with a VTS lump in it (on throttle bodies etc). so i have the advantage of vts power, and vtr spec, as in no passenger airbag, abs etc. perfect for track work!
