Lol, I'm not going to go to the expense of buying lower springs just to see what it looks like! I'll rest in the knowledge that it would look cool.
Justin: 16's are for ponces... ;)
Will do Haz, gonna take a little while as time is limited, but will post up when I've finished.
Lol, the colour will remain, but the wheels will not! I think if I was stripping it out, fitting coilovers and making a track beast, they'd look great. But then, if that was the case, I'd need some way of cooling the brakes.
I already miss my F1's... they'll be back for FCS. :)
Just the previous tyre fitters putting the bolts on that 'little' bit too tight, took a fair bit of force with a huge breaker bar to get some of them to budge!
Then I found that one of my jacking points is knackered, so had to 'adapt' my jack to fit...
Only temporary mind, I quite like the look but feel the car needs to be a lot lower to pull them off properly!
Mine are getting a DIY refurb - it could all end in tears! Getting the bloody things off today was bad enough.
I'm quite surprised with all the comments on here tbh, MOST police officers would take a rather reasonable view if it is not a 'fancy plate' and just a bit of different spacing.
Mine:
And I've never been pulled, passed 2 MOTs and am fairly confident that if I were to be pulled, the first...
Stunning, fantastic turnaround timeframe as well.
You're right that the wheels and ride height will transform it, at the moment it doesn't really look any different than any other white clio with some 172 bits bolted on. The bumpers, suspension and wheels will finish it off perfectly.
Well...
Saw a Racing Blue 182 avec le stripes today, about 6:15pm on Western Way, looking tasty.
And a blue 197 yesterday leaving Heavitree, possibly StormForce?
Congrats, looks a good'un. :)
And don't worry about the hike up of power too much, everyone goes on about it but it's a very very easy car to drive carefully and get used to - very forgiving. Well, mine is anyway: it's my missus first daily drive since passing her test and she's been fine for...
Will 14" steelies, off a Mk1 Clio I believe, fit on my standard Ph1 172?
It is not a style or a performance choice, just a temporary measure whilst I get my wheels off for refurbishing...
I'm not sure if they'll clear the caliper on the fronts though, as it's tight on the standard alloys.
Any pics Fub's?
I'll be doing all 4 wheels Billy, so exact won't matter at all. I've seen a few colours that are supposedly 'close' and have looked way off to me, so want to get some opinions!
Arse.
What's the best bet for a close match aerosol? It'll be for spraying from scratch so won't need to be compared to the exact colour. I heard a Vauxhall anthracite is very good?
Travelling Eastbount on the M4, around Cardiff... a lovely black 225 following me for a good half an hour so would've posted on here if they'd been a member I'd have thought.
