Clay won't really change the appearance, but remove bonded on contaminants such as bugs and tar that polishing or washing alone won't.
Definitely worth doing once in a while - I try to go for every 6 months, polishing every few months and EGP about once a month with a P21s top up every time I...
Could be a little bit of marring that you just don't realise when it's clean but become noticable again after a bit of dirt gets on there.
Try a bit of ScratchX on the spot and see if it minimises the marks...
The intakes have been contentious for as long as I've had the car on here! I've considered replacing them with the fogs, spraying them anthracite, black, silver, etc, etc. but I just come back to the opinion that I like them so they're staying that way for the time being. :)
Cheers guys, yeah refurbed them myself in June (I think) - just before FCS anyhow.
That's the reason I'm keepng away from the Apex - everyone seems to say they're such a decrease in ride quality. It's currently on Eibach Pro's, which I love to bits, but the back end couldn't be anymore in the...
Nought special, just some updated pics of the beast. She's looking nice at the moment, am entertaining the possibility of some Apex -40mm's and need to get the front scratches/chips out (erased by the magic of photoshop :) ).
Thanks mate, went and did in the end. Looks to have a nice gloss to it, wetter look than normal. 'Tis raining now so will be interesting to see how she beads and dries over the next day or two.
:( Not looking good. Left it in the airing cupboard all afternoon but am just getting funky colours on the screen. It's now gone onto the radiator for the remainder of the day in the hop it may be dried out in the morning.
Old phones used to be fine once completely dry (2/3 days) but I wonder...
Been having a dig around of all my bits and piece and found my half used bottle of Vanilla Moose Glaze.
Should I use this after the SRP and before EGP, or will it just mean the EGP won't bond to the Vanilla Moose? If using SRP, is there much point to the VM?
When you're having the cambelt done it's just as well to do water pump and aux belts. Apparently trying to do the water pump afterwards is just as much work so most garages will do it all together.
Welcome. :)
Whatever you do, get the lowest mileage possible. The future price of these seems to be influenced a lot by the mileage and perceived 'condition' of the car based on that.
As Justin pointed out, I love so many of the Ph1 shoot photos Chris did for us...
Planning on a decent picture-taking session on Sunday so may chuck a few of those up if any good...
I'd sell it with the Turini's on - it's an enthusiast type car anyway and the turini's enhance the looks quite a lot. The 182 wheels sell for a pretty penny anyway so they're not exactly going to lose you money by selling separately.
As said, most cars on here are advertised for less than...
I've found that Renault's own is the only match that is 100%, so whilst it's a bit more expensive, it's worth it. Found it to be spot on when doing my Ph2 bumpstrips a while ago.
Halfrauds attempts at mixing were laughable, although the spray mechanism they use is awesome, comes out in a...
Cheers guys, yeah seems to be a sensible idea to have a go myself and then bodyshop it if I c0ck it up. I'd say I'm a fairly competent sprayer, but paint matching to existing paint already on the bumper could require more skill!
Hmm, will have a think. Even a mismatch coverup can't look as bad as the white plastic surely! Maybe the best thing is to get a quote from a bodyshop or two just for doing that area and not respraying the whole bumper.
What's the process if using a rattle can Rich? Sand back the areas surrounding it, mask off and lightly spray over?
Don't mind spending a little cash, but seems a bit pointless respraying the whole bumper when all it'll do is highlight the stone chips all over the bonnet!
:( Thought so.
Not sure what to do. No point repsraying it now because it won't add enough value to it to offset the cost of the respray, but it may well put a lot of potential buyers off as it catches the eye all too easily.
Due to these annoying little beggars... (bottom left)
And also a couple bits that need touching up since I've has paintless dent removal done (which was excellent btw :D), I'm going to attack it with a touch up pen.
Question 1: Are the bumper bits too big to tackle with a touch up pen...
Lots of bits and pieces: games, DVD's, signed Steve Coogan pic, signed Steve Lamacq book, varioud fragrances, etc..
