Got a quote today from Chipsaway. The guy said it would be circa £100 for the bumper paint repair.
Sounds pretty reasonable and he guarantees that it won't be at all visible (i'll have that in writing please) and can be done in 2-3 hours.
Think i'm going to leave it though until i get paid...
Just wondering how they would go about straightening out the crease and that though, would it be simply sanding, filling and then repainting it?
Also wondering how much a bumper would cost me off a car with some front end damage, whats the going rate for a bumper from a scrappy, anybody know...
No mate, its the picture angle. Its actually the bumper that is 'bent' the 4th picture is the same area from reverse angle. Its just where the bumper sweeps around the side, but im guessing theres a retainer clip behind it and its folded around that point.
Farking ball ache though as im not...
Theres dry weight (dry weight) and then theres kerb weight (1/2 tank fuel, and driver).
Sounds to be like they don't know what they're talking about in fairness, im pretty sure the track ability of any of the Clio RS range isn't to be sniffed at, even compared to car's (upto) twice its price -...
Well this morning rushing my girlfriend to work, i managed to crunch the corner of my bumper on the corner of driveway wall. The result is a scar verticalled down the bumper and its also creased on the left behind the wheel where it meets the rear wing. Luckily theres no damage to my wing/arch...
A 172 exhaust is £306+vat from the cat-back from Renault, and its made od recycled Mr.Kipling cake tins.
Basically, don't even bother with Renault exhausts, get an Orbisoud :)
Panel filter, Cams, Chip + Remap, Decat, SS exhaust. Should get you near the mark. £1000+
Or you could get an electric supercharger off eBay, and some 'superduper' eBay power chip! £60
Both methods will get you exactly the same power!
I don't see why people are so keen to over rubber a tyre, 195's are fine as are 205's but the car really doesn't need anymore rubber on the road IMO.
Personally i think you'll be losing wheel feedback and you'll suffer with tramlining even more.
If you can find out whats squeaking you could use some rubber washers etc to provide some proofing, and its an ideal excuse to get your womans head in your lap "listen for the squeaks honey..." while you drive along smiling :)
My rear headrests do my fking nut in, they have some play in them...
My question would be how on earth didn't you notice that dent? To me its quite prominent. You should ALWAYS look along the line of the car fella.
Any 1/2 decent bodyshop could sort that no problem though mate.
Wouldn't surprise me, well if they're standard size ill replace the plastic shite with some decent self tappers and some loctite!
Will endevour to fix this on saturday, and post up my resolution. Just need to buy some ramps now :(
That's alright then, i got a torx set here.
Its facking annoying, makes the car sound horrible, and its all because some nonse in a Beamer 320 decided to try and race me down the lane; destroyed him, but now pay the price. Think i hit a bump too hard :(
Right just coming back down lanes today and i noticed that when i booted it i got this crappy rattle from the front of the car.
Just had it up on the kerb and revved it and it seems its coming from the heatshield directly above the cat. Anybody have any experience of fixing these barstewards...
As long as theres no oil seeping from it, then its tight enough. Just rub some grease onto it once you've tightened it up to stop anything ceasing/corroding - non-essential, but a good idea all the same.
Hm...can't say that i've heard that on mine, if there a rip it in anywhere? Seems odd...But would you be able to make a recording or isn't it very prominent?
