Could be anything to do with cambelt or aux belt.
What garage did you use? Did they use genuine renault parts and did they change the tensioner and idle pulley on the aux belt?
I would only use a specialist or a renualt dealer to change the cambelt and aux belt. It could be a bearing my...
Its basically ok at idle then between 1-2k it sounds like someone is whistling under the bonnet over 2k it goes then on the way back down the rev range it starts up again at 2k and stops at 1k.
Turning the air con on makes no difference. Could it be an air leak on the charcoal canister...
I get this exact problem ever since i changed the aux belt and pulleys. Is really doing my head in does anyone have a solution for this. Sounds like an air leak somwhere
There are a few round that area. I work down Love Lane.
Ive seen the cup before but I dont think its anyones on here.
There is also a Green 182 and a Black PH1 172 in the area and I think I may have seen your car around as well heading towards the A417 in the mornings past the BP garage...

Anyone on here?? Lovely car.
If its whirring i would say it was either the aux pulley of the aux tensioner pulley. I changed both mine last week and put a new belt on. The pulley bearing was quite noisy and worn. Car sounds 100 times better now though.
Good comparrison though I do think the spoiler on the cup looks like its come from Halfords. Would be interesting to see if the Mini tested had the optional diff as my girlfriends standard Cooper S (Without Diff) has serious amounts of Torque steer and when pushed just spins the inside wheel the...
All done took about 4 hours but it was my first time. Total b***h of a job!!
I removed the driver side wheel to improve access and also removed the engine mount so that I could raise and lower the engine.
I took off the bumper and light and although it didn't give too much extra space to work...
Just a quick one about this as im tackling it tomorrow.
Do I have to remove the Engine mounting as Renault suggest?
Also can it be changed without going through the wheel arch?
Thanks
Car has another 7,000 miles till it needs the aux belt changing again and 4,500 till its next service. However one of the pulleys or the tensioner has started to sound a little unhealthy. I'm aware of the damage they can cause if one of them fails so i want to get it sorted ASAP.
Now my...
