    Repairing a Key Mark

I worked it in with a cloth so I didn't have to scrape off excess with anything like the 'de nibber' thing. the majority of the excess paint came off with a good IPA wipe down. yet to try it on stone chips. I've always found that applying too much paint in one go makes it more susceptible to...

    Repairing a Key Mark

How deep is the key mark? I've recently tried mixing a little of the paint with a little less clear coat then rub it into the scratch / mark. Leave to dry then compound it back. There was a thread using the same principle on DW for stonechips to the front bumper...

Detailer around the East London area. TT-S needs some attention

They did a product demo towards the end of the day, anyone was welcome to have a play with most products. No one asked for a wax though. Plus we tried rejuvenate and tripple on one of the bonnets. I'm sure they'll do it again. I'm sure James would be happy for anyone to drop in throughout the...

Detailer around the East London area. TT-S needs some attention

I only had a little play with the flex, but a couple of sessions with Simons' (SimonBash?) Festool and it did feel fantastic. the pressure sensitive triggers on both are pretty nice. But they were so smooth compared to the EP800, it was like going back to DA. I am tempted to speak to James...

Detailer around the East London area. TT-S needs some attention

I'd imagine it would bore the likes of those with such experience. Russ was supposed to be coming till the incident in the Golf and would probably have been doing the training with James and Mike. We went through different types of damage, basic rotary polishing with different pads and...

Had a chance to look at how bad the damage was from the drive home yet Russ? Hoping you hadn't already done the front bumper?

Looking into getting a machine polisher, what's the best starter kit?

depends on how confident you are and what you want out of it I guess. Most people, as I did, start of with a DA before moving onto a rotary. I'm selling my DA as I've decided to make the move up mainly down to booking onto a paint correction course with a local detailing firm AutoFinesse so...

    Probably a repost but...

If my Mrs made her car sound like that it would be a quick way of ending things. Exhaust sounds aweful, as does the pops and bangs map. Sounds more chav than performance engine tone

    Decent wax and polish

Try SRP by machine, performs a lot better than expected. still not quite as nice to use as LP but may be a better choice if not using a DJ wax

    Decent wax and polish

Where in Essex are you? saw a blue 182 on the A120 bypass this morning. Either stick with halfords and AG srp & EGP / HD wax, or go that bit extra for the werkstat kit as Gally's link, worth it in my mind but maybe not for a beginner.

how much do u pay for wax?

You can't win Kev, either you see it or they don't. My friends are the same and will only use halfords basics and can't see why I spend the time or money on it. Even when I've done their cars and they see the difference they still don't understand. Guess a lot of it depends on how much you enjoy...

    Can't shift the bug...

people sell up far too quickly. Every time I considered changing or was getting bored I would drive the wife's car for a week and spend time searching through auto trader for suitable replacements, and it convinced me to keep it every time. Had my LY 182 for 6 1/2 years before I changed, and...

how much do u pay for wax?

it sounds like you may be putting too much 476 on or leaving it for too long. I had that trouble when I first started using it. stick with it as it's durability is great. I use it on my MTB and snowboard.
  17. Y

how much do u pay for wax?

started with £15 for 476, then £25 for AG HD wax, £30 for supernatural hybrid, £20 each for Victoria concours and collectors sample pots., then all blown away by £90 for AF spirit

    What have you ordered? *Detailing*

Re: What have you ordered? as far as I'm aware it's a one off run of 20 pots for publicity and seems to have worked well

    My exhaust just exploded!

looks like the cat is OK to me and it's just the mid silencer part that's broke as you can see the join clamp If you're interested, I have my standard 182 full exhaust and cat in the loft still. took them off at 50K, the exhaust has been cut to remove it like all 182 systems but Renault have a...

http://www.diy.com/nav/fix/handtools-storage-workwear/tool-storage-workbenches/tool-storage/tool_bags/FatMax-Open-Tote-Tool-Bag-Grey-Red-9676966 I use the above, not big enough to hold my full collection but holds more than enough to hold everything you need to do a single car.

    Soul, Passion or Spirit?

I wouldn't like to say with a premium wax like Zymol or Swissvax, Kev or Russ I'm sure will be able to comment but it's worked with all mine that I've tried so far.

    Soul, Passion or Spirit?

I have found rejuvenate to be pretty compatable with other brand waxes, certainly compared to LP

    Soul, Passion or Spirit?

When I 1st tried SN hybrid I used EZ creme on some panels with a red hex logic pad and cleaned up quite well. Panels with LP and SNH laster better than those with EZ creme and SNH though.

    Gtechniq ClearVision Screen Kit

I used it Saturday, 3 - 4 tips onto the applicator was enough to do the front screen, wait 15mins do it again, wait 15 mins do it again then go round the rest of the windows with 2 tips of a bottle max and allowed the whole car to set for 15mins. I used hardly any on a 5 door Focus. I think I...

    Soul, Passion or Spirit?

Thanks Kev / Russ. Although I love the finish of spirit it doesn't feel much different to use than any of my other waxes. the acclaimed durability was a factor in buying it, but I sold the car after 2months of application so couldn't really comment. Have been tempted to put it for sale / swap...

How would you compare zymol waxes to them Kev as they seem to be comparable in price ranges
  29. Y

    Soul, Passion or Spirit?

I had samples of all 3, but bought spirit and it's my 1st expensive wax. over tripple 3 the depth of colour gand flake of my LY Clio was amazing. not quite as easy to use as the others though. Soul was OK, didn't last all that well, looked nice but very easy to use so simple to re apply...
