I can honestly say that the clio 197 my mate test drove today is probably on par with an standard 172 ff. I was pulling on it and had to back off or i would have parked in the rear seats. I must say that the handling may be the only thing going for it, but I have put H+R coilovers on my car...

I have gone from a regular 30mpg over many thousand miles to 23mpg!!!! I changed my plenum over the other day for my polished one, could this have caused this. Car does feel quicker though, maybe it was matched better?

Wash the car like you normally do before claying, makes the clay last longer. Roll the clay in your hand to warm it up and lubricate the paint with whatever you have. and rub, simple as that. Just make sure you never let the paint go dry as it makes a mess , and fold the clay when it gets dirty.

If i turn the wheel from 10 to 2 and back and so on. at the 10 and 2 it makes a funny sound clicky kindof. Happens with engine on and off. Going to renault in morning to ask them.

Drop a 2.0 in there and some coilovers and it will be half decent.
